Default uTorrent

The official uTorrent beta for Mac has just been released. Intel & Leopard only, apparently.

For those of you who don't know, uTorrent is a very small and efficient bittorrent client.

Enjoy.

Yes! Thanks for the info! I absolutely love utorrent. I use it on linux too - under wine, of course. I'm so glad they've got a native version of it now!

+1, my friend.

They say "Intel" but it's actually a Universal Binary.

What is so special about utorrent?
Why does everybody rave about it?
Seems like nothing special to me.

So why all the hype?

Peace.

Most people like a torrent client that's a bit more sophisticated than the regular Bit Torrent client. The two biggest choices out there are Azureus and uTorrent. Azureus is written in Java so it runs on any platform - downside is that it uses pretty much all of your ram, lol. uTorrent is brilliant in terms of ram/cpu consumption but until now it's only been available for windows.

In fact, when I was running utorrent on linux under wine, it STILL used less cpu/ram than Azureus.

You are missing the all important, and totally awesome, Deluge. I would have to recommend it over running uTorrent with wine.
