Last year my friend camped out at Best Buy, and was in a group of the first 10 people in line. When it got closer to the doors opening, he sold his spot for $300, and got back in the line, waited, and bought an iPod. What do you think about doing this for money?

I think that I might do it, since standing outside in the cold won't bother me. You can have a bid going on, and sell your spot to the highest bidder.

Yeah I'm thinking his friend mostly got lucky.

A better idea would be to rush into the store, grab whatever the hot-ticket item is, then scalp some unlucky chap outside who didn't make it in time.

My other friend sold his spot for the iPhone 3G, for $100. So yeah, people will pay for spots... at least where I live.

I'm surprised people that wait overnight rarely get robbed, you would think it would be a perfect opportunity. Lots of people, lots of cash in hand and cards, in the dark of the night. Does anyone remember when that guy got shot waiting overnight for a PS3?
