Asking questions and not getting answers
tl/dr @ the end
What's with this? I read about it so much here and it's just depressing. Ripstick, sorry but I'll use you as an example. You ask him "why don't you want to have sex" and then he gives you some half assed retardo answer.
I have a one track mind. If I have something troubling me, I need it answered. If I ask some one something, and they don't answer, I will push, and push, and push...till I either get my answer, or I need to leave/kick them out/break up with them. Like your situation ripstick, it interferes with your happiness. If some one wants to keep something from you, that's fine. The second what ever they're keeping from you starts impacting your happiness, it becomes your business and you need to open a can of psycho on their ass.
This thread was also inspired by thatsmydog's possessive boyfriend. She tries talking to him about it, and he blows it off and has a shower. Now you're here, on totse, still confused.
People next time some one doesn't answer your question...go ape shit. MAKE them answer. Communication is so important and if some one can't communicate, push them in the right direction with a KGB interrogation, or break up with them. This doesn't always work out perfectly, I can't count the number of times people have broken down or cried, but it serves them right for keeping shit from you (lying through omission).
tl/dr: When there's a problem obviously bothering a couple, and one party has the courage to ask the other, the other person should have the fucking respect to answer. It takes guts to bring up an issue in a direct and clear way (not in an underhanded sneaky way) and when some one wont answer, you need to MAKE them fucking answer.

lol no, I had a fantastic day. I'm just sick of it when people ask totse a question that could easily be answered by asking their partner/who ever they're asking about/ Then you tell them to ask and they're like "But I did...they ignored me". How weak do you have to be to be ignored by some one? If my girl ignored me, I'd seriously just smash something loud (girls are easily distracted by loud noises and shiny things) then be like "OI bitch. I ASKED a fucking QUESTION".

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
First and foremost, leave my can alone. I don't want it opened in every couples' argument. It's a nice can, nice and cosy and I don't need it opened. Especially in the winter.
Secondly, I agree with you, mate. Communication is the key in a healthy relationship. If someone asks a question they should get an answer. Having everything in the open makes things go a lot easier in the long run.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Some people need a bit more time to give their answers. The best way to get lied to is by pushing for an answer when they don't have one to give.
That being said, communication is key and you don't ignore someone that you care about; unless you're mean, vindictive, cruel, and/or vicious.

Fuck I've never considered that. Although it doesn't apply to all situations, it's a very handy thing to remember.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Every single one of my girlfriends has called me James Bond. I take it as a compliment but then they inform me that "James Bond is only a step away from Hannibal Lector"
What can I say, I hate sharing. Most of the girls I just hook up with get fed a bunch of lies just for fun.
The girls I date get the truth, but I'm like Johnny Tightlips most of the time. It's not like I've got too much to hide, I'm just not big on answering "how was your day, what did you do?" beyond a simple "it was good".
The worst is when a girl opens up her heart and soul and you barely pretend to listen, then she complains that you're not opening up. I never asked you for your life story, and I rarely tell mine, especially not to people close to me. So keep your mouth shut and the next time you try prying into my business you're getting a kick to the cunt.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
This thread is so relevant it shocks me. As most people here know (because I talk about it incessantly) my boyfriend, who I've been with for almost 3 years, moved 3 hours away this year to go to university. And every three weeks or so he comes home and spend the weekend with me. However all of the times he's been home it's been a struggle for me to get him to have sex or anything of that nature. I buy lingerie, wear my sexiest outfits, doll myself up entirely and throw myself at him and he brushed it off with a 'I just want to hold you,' and always just wants to be lovey dovey. This past weekend he came home, and we had the house to ourselves all day. To him a year ago that would've meant sex now talk later, but this time it was more like 'lay in bed and tell me how awesome I am for an hour and ignore my advances.' I don't like to be mistrustful or jealous, because he's never given me any reason to, but I honestly started to think that maybe he was getting it elsewhere, or wasn't interested in me sexually anymore.
Every time I've brought it up with him he'd brushed it off, until last night on the phone. I asked him, straight up, what was going on. It turned into a fight. He said that he just misses being around me, misses me as a person first, and wants to actually talk to me, and excuse him for not treating me like a common whore. He made it out like I was some sex-crazed nympho, who god forbid wants sex after being away from him for almost a month. All I wanted was a productive talk that led to him realizing that it hurt my feelings that he wasn't as amorous as me after being apart for a while, and it turned into how I insulted him by asking that question, and how he is just a really decent guy who appreciates me for more than sex and I don't appreciate that. Gah....ready to rip out all my hair at this point. I don't even know how to feel.
edit: In conclusion, asking questions and not getting answers is frustrating, but getting an answer you don't want to hear is equally bad.

I'd prefer an answer I don't want, any day of the week. Hypothetically: If I asked a girl to marry me, and she said "I don't know"...I'd much prefer a no. I don't like being in limbo.
And what the fuck is it with all these girls on totse being turned down by their boyfriends? You're all far from fugmos. Except WAN. She will never have a boyfriend.

When you asked him, and he got really defensive, did alarm bells go off in your head? Because they should have. Instantly jumping the gun and becoming defensive is what guilty people do. Bring it up again, but only when he's in person. Make him realize that twisting what you say so as to make it sound like you're insulting him is not on.
Explain that you love him, want him, etc, but you need to know why he doesn't want much sex. Be honest, tell him he's making you feel unattractive and that's not why you're in the relationship.
The thing is, now he's going to feel pressured to have sex with you and that's fucked up. He doesn't see you for three weeks at a time and doesn't want it? If I don't see my girl for a few days I'll fucking ravage her when I see her, 3 weeks...and god...I don't know.
1. When people instantly get defensive, it's a sign of guilt
2. He's twisted what you've said to make him self out to be the victim, making you forget what you were initially talking to him about, again another action of a guilty person
3. He's apparently not having sex for 3 weeks at a time and not being sexual when he sees you?
Keep an eye on him silverfuck.

Yes, an answer that I don't want beats not knowing or being mislead. It's always better to be informed.
Silverfuck, why every three weeks? 3 hours is nothing at all and I know that cost isn't a barrier. Why not go visit him?
It does sound like he's feeling bad and not wanting to lose you.

Oh geez.
We've been together for a long time, and I've never felt any reason to mistrust him before, so I guess that's why I've been so eager to give him the benefit of the doubt. But everything you've said makes complete sense. And on top of that every time I've called him in the last week or two, his phone has been turned off, or he doesn't pick up...which could be totally coincidental but just adds to the worry...The only thing I don't know about its whether or not I can wait until I see him in person to bring it up again. I don't think he'll be home until the second or third week in December, and I don't know if I can keep stressing out about it until then.
I appreciate the honest insight, though. I have a tendency to look at things optimistically and miss the more unsavory details.

Cost is definately the barrier. It's a $100 dollar round trip on the train, $150 on the bus, and he can't afford to keep a car at school so he can only come home when his friends are coming home. Which is every three weeks or so. And my parents definately don't have the time or money to be chauffeuring me around the country.
And you're right; he does care about me and I can tell. He really is a great guy and a good boyfriend, except for this one issue.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
I refuse to answer questions that I don't have answers to. Boyfriend and I had a fight last night (again!!!) and he kept asking me all these ridiculous questions I don't have the answers to. There are also times where I will refuse to answer a question because the answer is going to royally fuck things up. I have no desire to deal with any more fighting than I already do.
And Silverfuck, I'm pretty much in the same situation as you, except I'm in your boyfriend's position. In my case, my sex drive is batshit fucking mental. It's either really high, or nonexistent. Lately it's been nonexistent. This apparently continues to be an issue even though he knows damn well that this happens all the time and trying to push me into doing something I don't want to do is going to end up screwing him over time and time again. Stupid douchebag. Someone please explain to me why I'm still in this relationship...
If you've already talked to him about it, just let it be. Next time he comes to visit, don't mention anything sexual at all, and see what happens. You know how people are. As soon as something isn't there, we want it.

Fuck school and fuck money! I could get you a place to live with some cool girls (students as well), it's safe and has a much smaller risk of surprise sex compared to living with randoms.
But your puppy...you can't abandon a puppy, he wont know you're on holiday, he'll just think he was a bastard, unwanted child and he's why his mummy and daddy broke up so his mum left him. :( As cool as you coming to OZ would be....you have responsibilities.

My puppy freaks out if I'm gone for more than a day. I can't imagine what he's going to do when I go somewhere for a few weeks, let alone going to Australia, which would be for a few months at least. I'll do it one day though! But for now, I'm stuck here, school and no snow and no job and all. :p

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Silverfuck,
it's one of two things: he's cheating on you, or he genuinely misses you being a constant part of his life. The relationship sounds like it might be stagnating because of distance. This is common, and you should be ready to accept this possibility.
Demoiselle,
if you don't deal with the issues, they'll pile up and cause fights. Try to find ways to approach the problems that won't result in arguments. If they're important issues and you two have to fight over them, then do so as calmly as possible. Both of you sit down at a table with a nice cup of green tea in front of you. Listen to what he has to say, consider it, and then give a thoughtful reply. Have him do the same. You need to discuss the issues, but if you argue it's not productive.

Well, at least there's the possibility that he actually misses me and isn't cheating on me. I mean, aside from not being as interested in sex, he still calls almost every day and makes an effort to be a good boyfriend otherwise, and when we are together we have a great time as if he had never been gone. I mean, if he was really getting better somewhere else, he wouldn't need to make an effort to keep a relationship with me, right? You're right, there's always the possibility of it going south, but in the meantime I'm going to try and stop thinking about it and see how it plays out. If he is cheating on me, or if we are going to break up, me getting all bent out of shape over it isn't going to help.

You're disgustingly mature for your age. You're also far too logical in interpreting and accepting what I've said. This leads me to conclude that you're either a robot or a man.
Seriously though, he probably just misses you. If I were cheating on my girlfriend, I wouldn't put forth the effort to maintain the relationship. I imagine you should just relax and think about other things for a while and see where it goes. You can always end a relationship later on. That's important to remember. So just let it go and see how things work out for the next month or two.
edit: it feels good to actually post helpful advice like I usually do. I've been posting a lot of useless shit lately.
edit 2: he might be afraid of you cheating on him, so he's emphasizing the emotional aspect of your relationship in an effort to show you he loves you and not your body. I didn't think about that til just now. It's a very real possibility, though.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Having gone back and read the whole thread, I think I'm ready to dispense some advice on Silverfuck:
I don't think he's necessarily cheating on you. Could be that he simply doesn't have anyone to really talk to where he's living. I live an hour away from my family, and every time I come home I wind up talking myself hoarse because I simply don't talk very much when I'm on my own. As for the sex, could be he's just learning to live without it on a daily basis and it isn't a huge priority for him. Still, the two of you need to spend more time together, once every 3 weeks is fucking bullshit, if I may say so.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
I don't know about disgustingly mature...I'm just trying to get by, and I'm definately not immune to fits of emotion and paranoia, which is why I'm in this situation :p. I really appreciate the advice, though, it's made me feel quite a bit better about things. I guess now, hearing the positive side of things from you, and the negative from arquin, I can look at the whole situation with a more balanced perspective and be open to all possible outcomes and not ignore the things I don't want to see.
But this is arquin's thread, and not at all what he intended for it, I'm sure. Sorry, I have this awful tendency of making every thread about me :(

It's pertinent. It's always good to hear both sides. When I'm being serious, I give my honest opinion. That's probably the thing I love most about totse.
Either way, you'll have to wait to see which of us is right. I'm betting on me, being as I based my advice on how I really felt about a girl at one point, but arquin is often right as well. Keep us updated.

And Silverfuck:
He treats you really well, you both have fun together, yet he's not so sexual? it sounds like he loves you dearly, but almost like a best friend. Could he be losing 'the spark'?
If I stopped loving a girlfriend as a lover, and started loving her as a best friend again, everything would be the same except the sex, or lack thereof.
Just some food for thought.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Seriously you should take up horse fucking. Not only would that cock be big enough to satisfy you, but you could fuck them whenever you wanted. Just go to a horse farm, pull down your panties (if you even have any) and coax a horse into mounting you. Let him ride you and cum in you, and then more horses will follow suit.
1.Fuck horses
2.Video tape said fuckings
3.Sell video tapes
4.Profit.
Then you can spend your hard earned money on male prostitutes, you dirty sex fiend.

Re: Asking questions and not getting answers
Aw Silverfuck I do love you, and am sorry that this sort of stress has come up in your relationship. Perhaps he has other stresses at school which decrease his sex drive, or maybe he does truly just miss being close to you in a non intimate way. Whichever the case, you do deserve the truth and a healthy sex life. I've read other posts about your guys' relationship and it seems as genuine as can be, I only hope that the reasons for his odd behavior are innocent.

My town's economy is based around factory jobs, and all the major employers have closed in the last few months, so all the part time jobs I should be getting are being filled by middled aged people who've lost their jobs and have families to provide for. It's not for lack of trying; I've been handing out resumes and filled out applications for ages, but there aren't any minimum wage jobs available. The economy screws me over

Do jobs for less then minimum wage then or learn to drive and find a job out of town.

There are no real jobs that pay less then minimum wage. Hence the term minimum wage. Retard.
And ya, shes got no money so you suggest she buys a car.

You've earned yourself a nice place on my ignore list too.
There's many jobs that don't pay minimum wage. Just ask the mexicans.
As for travel? I'm sure a bus/carpool arrangement could be worked out. The point is that 100 bucks a week is nothing when I can easily make a lot more in one weekend. And sure I'm not unqualified in a small town, but there's always options if you look hard enough.

Oh yeah, cuz theres a lot of mexicans in her small Canadian town. I know you didn't mean it literately, but what do you expect her to do? Chill outside a home depo and offer to build porches/finish up basements? Pick beans? Thats the type of shit mexicans do. Those are the kinds of jobs that get paid below minimum wage.
Oh noooo, not your ignore list!! Please not that!! Like I give a fuck. Go blow a tuna faggot. All your proving by ignoring me is that I pwned you so brutally you're scared it will happen again and are taking measures to prevent it. Ok, this is when you start talking to friends and family. If they can't help you find a job or hook you up with one, then you talk to the people at the employment office and tell them that you want to start building a resume/career and need a job. You ask them if they can help find you one. Have you ever had a job before? What would you like to do for work?
Does your school have a guidance/career counselor? It would be worth talking to them about a job as well.
This is just one of the many reasons that so many people leave Ontario.
P.S. - It might not seem like it, but these questions and thoughts are offered with the best of intentions. :)
