Default Bad batch of salvia?

I recently bought less than a gram of 30x salvia for $35. Rip off, I know, but it's the only place that sells it around here without having to order it online. I used a bubbler and a regular bic lighter, took 3 hits, held it in for 20-30 seconds, and didn't feel a thing. I used a piece of tin foil to hold the salvia in since it would have fallen through the bigger hole on the bubbler. A friend of mine tried the same thing and didn't feel anything either. What gives? Am I doing something wrong or is it just a bad batch? It says "Distributed by Holy Smoke" on the back, along with "Not intended for human consumption" and "Have a sitter present" (kind of ironic). I'm going to buy a torch lighter and try it without the foil to see if I can get anything, but I feel like I probably spent $35 for a small bag of catnip.
Edit: It was our first time trying it as well, and I heard that some people don't feel anything their first time.

no, i've heard of this happening to people. they buy a gram of salvia and they feel absolutely no effects. i'm guessing its either not salvia or is very degraded thus providing no "trip".

my opinion, dont buy salvia from that shop anymore.

Buy 60x from head shops or don't buy S at all.

It most probably was legit- 30X sounds a bit silly, mind..
However, it is normal to not break through the first few times, and the torch lighter is a must. In layman's terms, Saliva's active chemical can only become 'active' when it is heated to the temperature of which only a torch lighter is capable- your regular lighter will not help you here.
And fuck bics or whatever, buy a bong or pipe from your local paraphernalia store.
To be honest, if i were you i'd throw the Salvia away right now. That- or meditate for a month on end and make sure you are definitely in the best mindset possible in a private location for when you do it. And of course, your (sober) trusted best friend must be there as a sitter, and no one else. Great respect is needed for this wondrous drug. If you don't respect it, it won't respect you, and you will end up being traumatized for life.
Trust me, it's most probably not worth it.

because... butane burns at a lower temp than... butane? Confused

maybe it was old/degraded?

What are you on about, Alcolyte? Yes, torch lighters are higher in temperature than regular lighters, by quite a lot. Didn't you know..?
Torch lighters are fueled by butane, but they differ in several important ways from regular lighters or common disposable butane lighters such as BIC® and Zippo®. Because the fuel is under compression in a torch lighter, the flame it produces sounds like a mini-jet engine and shoots out in any direction that the user chooses to aim it.

And- yes i know fucking doctor Phil. What is your point..
Salvia is a POWERFUL fucking drug, respect it or it'll pwn you. Seriously.

so zippos are butane fueled now? and bic lighters don't use compressed butane? and what you quoted didn't say anything about temp. but now I know that the flame they produce sounds like a mini-jet engine and shoots out in any direction that the user chooses to aim it.

the dr.phil thing was a joke:D

and yes, I know salvia is a powerful drug thus why kidiots shouldn't be using it and causing state legislators to ban it. (not implying you're a kidiot - talking about the majority of the salvia using population.)

Sorry, i'm trying to back up my sources at the same time as flaming nigger leech and his risperidone-esque shenanigans.
I'm a bit on edge, and inaccurate. I apologize.

Fuckin noobs, I swear. Look, the reason a torch butane lighter is hotter than a bic is because the torch lighter comes out at a faster rate, thus more volume, and through a special aerating head that aspirates the butane more thoroughly than a simple hole on a bic.

Take a bic, and a torch lighter, burn a piece of glass. Notice the bic leaves a shit ton of soot and black shit, that's because the butane is not fully combusting. Notice the torch doesn't do that. Because ALL the butane is burning.

That is the difference. Salvia is insane shit, and it is going to pwn your face. A strong salvia trip is like taking 1mg+ of LSD. It is always a full on ++++ experience. Have fun with your ego loss. You have no fucking clue what you are in for.

Sorrie SN, i phailed :(
But yes, i meant that.

As i said, it will fuck you over if you're not careful- it happened to me. I was foolish and did it in public with people i wasn't too close with, and i still feel some of the repercussions of that awful experience even to this day. There is the slight tinge of paranoia in almost everything i do.

I stand corrected.
but the only reason I brought that up is because a torch lighter is not necessary to break through.
