I've never asked for help here. all I need to know is what to do in this situation.

I am 18, in college. I met this girl in class and I cannot for the love of everything stop thinking about her. We've become great friends. I really like her and would like to be in a relationship with her.

I talk to her almost everyday, and she even admitted to liking me, she actually openly flirts with me, I do too. What's the problem? She has a boyfriend living in Florida (we live in NYC), so it's a long distance relationship...and they are having some problems, but she is still with him and seems to still like him.

this has really brought me down to the point where I've become depressed (I know :()because we have so much in common, it's like everything I talk about she knows and likes. personality wise, she is exactly like me.

so I decided to put everything behind me and just stay friends, even if it hurts me... I will get over it.

here is where the other girl comes in, she is great friends of girl 1 and I. I can't stop thinking about her for some reason...and she is single which means there is nothing stopping me.

here is he problem! we three hang out twice a week. we know each other well and I am afraid that if something were to happen between me and girl 2, girl 1 would get jealous if she truly has something for me...and I don't want that to happen.

so what do I do? this shit is so confusing on one hand girl 1 has a LDR with this guy she says has distanced himself from her, admitted to liking me...yet she still talks to him, she actually had an argument a few days ago (and I as the dumb ass motherfucker I am, helped her through the tough time at 2 in the morning...they solved it the next day...fuck).

on the other hand is girl 2, friend of ours, she is single and I kinda have a thing for her which I noticed in the past few days...I don't know this shit has been really downing me for the past week to the point where I become really depressed.

Not what you wanna hear, but girl one is using you as the physical form of her boyfriend... if you get what i mean. She's in love with him and speaks to him daily(all assumptions here), only problem is, he isnt around to give her the attention she wants. In you walk, you like her, are there for her, and basically would do anything for her (all assumptions again) and to top it all off, if she has no inclination to fuck you, she doesn't have to. Think about it, she probably has a vibrator, and/or masturbates, all she needs you for is the physical attention that she cant get from her bf, she probably has no intentions outside of friendship for you, and as soon as the bf from Florida or where ever is out of the picture, expect another guy to swoop in from seemingly out of nowhere and snatch her interest. Sad but true.

yeah, I've been thinking about that. so it's really no surprise, thing is I doubt she might get together with another guy if she were to break up with her current boyfriend...seeing how she isn't really a looker and I am more of a personality kind of guy...her loss really if that's really her intentions.:D

so...would it be a bad idea if I, say, were to get together with girl 2. she is currently single and Friday I talked to her alone for a few minutes and she seemed interested. worth a try at least...right?

i suppose it would be alright, i mean if you lose girl 1, and gain a relationship with girl 2, that's fair enough, but if you wait for girl 1, girl 2 finds someone else, then girl 1 could go several ways,

Either she does break up with her long distance boyfriend, and pick you, stay with him, or break up with him, and find someone else

according to girl 1...she is going to Florida over the winter break from college. actually she first said it was over the summer because she "wanted to get some summer classes at a college in Florida"...little did she know I knew she had a boyfriend in Florida, I just kept it quiet.

Then one day it came up in a conversation and I basically took it out of her mouth...that's when she said she might be going to Florida to visit him over the winter...though I really doubt it because o money issues.

freeze frame. just go with girl 2, keep girl 1 as a friend. she should take it the right way hopefully, personally, she is a lost cause for a proper relationship.
