Default Crying infront of you're girlfriend...

:( Today I cried on the phone with my girlfriend. And thirty minutes after I typed that last sentence and made some tea, my moms boyfriend showed me his big box o' 80's porn out of know where, and I just saw my mom topless when she left her door open. EEK! Scarred.

Can my life get any worse?

:(:(:(:(

To not stray from the orginal topic though, girls, would you think any less of your boyfriend if you heard him cry out of nowhere after 8 months of manly man manliness and not crying? Guys, have you ever cried infront of a girl? My mind got the best of me I couldn't control it I was so frustrated. Can't remember doing that for about 5 years. I feel like less of a man.

Before I took my meds I used to cry like 5 times a week, I was proper emo. But since then, yeah once. It was messed up and I had good reason, she was understanding.

Only a cunt would care. Providing you do it only for a good reason: ie death.

Never mention it again. And change the subject when she does. Keep it inside, you're a man for godsake. The only thing we're aloud to cry at is loosing Family or close friends in unexpected/violent condtions.

Because we got in a huge fight thats been going on for a couple of weeks and couldn't reconcile. I cried more out of the frustration than anything. It was short like 20 seconds. I'm fine now though I certainly feel a lot better

well then i say no big deal.
just not on a regular basis...because not only you would feel less manly but she would get that idea as well...
as long as it was legit in yours and her eyes..
no worries.
but i swear to you ...there is nothing more annoying to me then a guy who is overly emotional....smothering....etc.
that is the thing.

Women like to know a man has a sensitive side. They key is balance. A man must be a man, and only cry when appropriate.

QFT. All these guys here saying "REAL MEN DONT CRY RAWRRRR IM A MANLY MANNN"? Pussies, all of them. Like this guy said, women actually like to see that their man is multidimensional. They know stuff phases us and upsets us, and only idiots keep that in. I mean, that's not to say that you can't cry too much, because you can. But if you really are upset, don't bother bottling it in.

My boyfriend has cried in front of me only a handful of times. Once when he was drunk, when he left to go to university three hours away, and a few times when we've had really epic fights. I've never thought less of him; in fact it makes me like him more to know that he has feelings and feels comfortable enough with me to show it.

I don't know about you but if my girlfriend cried all the time over mundane shit it would annoy me a lot. In my opinon this applies to both genders.

Wrongo. Women cry over all kinds of stupid shit. Its part of being a woman, and another reason why they are inferior. When someone busts thru the door with a gun, what do women do? They stand there and scream until they pass out. Does a guy scream like a woman? No. Either they remain calm or fight back.

Ya its no secret women are more sensitive, This has its ups and its downsides but its true. Its one of the reason they arnt allowed in combat. Statistics show that men are more likely to function better after watching their best friends head get blown off :(....im not sure if this is necessarily a good thing though

Depends on how old you are. I think most guys, whether they admit or not, have that first time a girl leads them to tears. The first time usually comes as shock, like what the fuck, where did that come from, then it's too late.

After that, you can tell when it's gonna happen. At that point I say, get off the phone, or leave. She'll probably know why, and you'll know she knows. So she'll know you're sensitive, but you avoid actually looking like a pussy.

Default Re: Crying infront of you're girlfriend...

It's crying...So what?

I don't make a point of crying but there's nothing wrong with it. It helps get a lot of frustration and anger out. I find it quite theraputic. I'll cry maybe once every 4-6 months depending on events. It's like mental defragging for me.

I'll cry after a shit load of beer whilst thinking about some negative things that've been on my mind for a while. Then they're gone. Dealt with.
Crying brings some type of hysteria where your brain will think things that your really don't want to deal with, images you don't want to see, sounds you never want to hear and it's either deal with these thoughts and feelings or be a quivering mess. I don't like being a quivering mess. So I deal with these thoughts and feelings. I'll wake up with a slight hangover but that shit in my head is all sorted out.

In regards to my missus...I don't mind her seeing me cry. It only ever happened once and that was shortly after my best mate died a few months back. It hurt and she knew that. I cried a bit and she held my hand and gave me a hug when I finished.
She still sees me as the same guy she always knew... A baldy bastard with shit loads of tattoos and no problems being myself no matter what I want to say or do.

I've cried in front of female friends before. I have cried in front of GF's before. A couple of the times were when I was even sober [were you even counting drunk cryings?]. Like last year when my cousin died...

None of them though any less of me because of it. It's mostly just the ultra-shallow females who buy into the 'macho' and 'manliness' bullshit and even more so the older they get I've seen.

One even told me that she thought it was a good thing that I was able to cry in front of her. She said it showed that I was truly able to express my 'feelings' to and towards her - and you all know how that kinda shit is a big thing with females.

If the girl actually cares about your emotions you shouldnt stress it. Just dont bring it up. Also depends on the girl, for example the dirty whore will be more like toughen up pussy. I understand your situation, act like it never happened. She should be happy that you could open up to her that much.

It's fine to cry, just don't be a goddamn baby about it. My girlfriend cries about fucking everything. She forgot her wallet at home one time and started crying. It pisses me off so much and I then I act like a bitch about it because it pisses me off so much, and that makes it worse. So crying's fine, but don't cry over spilled milk.

At the same time, you need to know how to react when your significant other starts crying in front of you. I'm known by friends and past ex's for pretty much never crying. I cried on the phone with my girlfriend the other day because I had to get my rat put down after she broke her jaw almost clean off, and she didn't even like, acknowledge it or say anything to try and make me feel better.
