The Book of Mormon
No offense to any Mormons, but I just read this book, and to give it a review in a non-religious way, I consider it to be on of the worst pieces of literature I have ever read. It's really repetitive and sounds nothing like the original bible. I have to say it's a piece of a crap. Oh and how do you expect to have followers with character names like Moron and Moroni? That's one thing I can't understand.
Everytime I look at it, it just gives me the feeling that this guy just wrote it to see how many people would fall for it. "I bet I could make a religion that was based on an Angel named Moroni and people would still totally go for it. Yeah, and then I'll just say it's another testament of Jesus! hehehehe"
Honestly that book is just plain bad literature-wise. Just take a look at the first paragraph:
"[1] I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days."
Come on! This sounds like the guy's bragging about himself. All in all I have to give this book a thumbs down.

Re: The Book of Mormon
It's possible that Smith just did a bad job of translating the ancient Egyptian. I'm sure it's actually a great read in the original. I wonder where I could find a copy...

Trust me it isn't. It's really a piece of crap. Don't be expecting the usual Bible type of speak, this is just plain bad English from the 1800's. It was never proven that he actually translated it from anything.
You're better off reading the original Old and New Testaments. Now there's some literature. Not that I'm religious or anything, but the originals are just plain better. Especially the way they're written. Joseph's writing is just terrible and awfully repetitive.

Re: The Book of Mormon
I used to have one of these from The Church of Latter Day Saints. You might remember the commercials where you could call up and order one of them. I called up and they were happy to deliver it personally to my door.
More than 10 years later, they still drop by that house looking for me.

Re: The Book of Mormon
I actually got it from this little group of missionaries that walk around the neighborhood talking to people. I was actually nice and let them in. I fed them some chips and water and we talked a bit, since I am very open-minded person, I figured it'd be a good idea to explore different things. Then I read the book...

Lots of hot young blondes in their church.
Makes me want to start a religion..
And I'll name one of the guys Retard, and one of the chapters will be called "Retardo", and the religion followers will be called "Rettards".
And people will still buy it. That's pretty much what the guy who started the Mormons did.

That is one of the many books I knew was shite without reading it. Take it's followers for example, they pretty much give it away.

This is certain. Sometimes there's so much hotness here I just can't take it.
