What the hell is a girlfriend or boyfriend. I'm not in a relationship and have desired to be for awhile now but I don't understand why. What the hell is a girlfriend? How do people decide they want to be in a 'relationship'? How the hell does this work? Why?

I think pretty much everyone wants/enjoys companionship. It feels nice to know that you have a wicked partner whose always got your back and wants to make you happy. And it is very nice to have sex on tap whenever you want.
