What is it like for you on Klonopin?
So, I have been enduring a tremendous amount of bull shit in the past half year. In the past month I have been having unexplained anxiety attacks which have been terrifying. I recently saw a doctor and he prescribed Klonopin. Well, since I started taking it the anxiety attacks have stopped, but I end of feeling like a drunken fool when I've gone to my classes. Is this normal?

Yeah, that's normal, enjoy!
In all srsnss, take half of what you've been taking, see if it stops the anxiety while also allowing to function and not be a drunken fool.

Re: What is it like for you on Klonopin?
yeah, feeling "drunk" is kinda normal, but only in higher than medical doses. i'm pretty sure 2 mgs is the highest prescribed medical dose, but its reserved for people that have been taking klonopin for a long time and have a tolerance. 2 mgs would definitely have a first timer and/or a light person feel drunk, but you probably dont take that medically.
its a bad thing that you feel "drunk" off the little dose that you probably take. it could mean you're sensitive to klonopin or something.
how much do you weigh, and what is the dose you're currently taking?

Try half or three fourths your dose.

Re: What is it like for you on Klonopin?
klonopin tolerance actually comes real quickly and easily. They sometimes give 5mgs to epileptics and in a short amount of time they get really used to it, so maybe start at half and work yourself up to what the doctor is giving you originally.

I weigh about 121 lbs and I am prescribed .5 MG twice daily. I have a pretty low threshold for most medication, so I am assuming everyone is on the right track saying that I just have a low tolerance to it.

i dunno i dont see .5 mgs of klonopin getting anybody high unless you're flat missing an enzyme or weigh like 30 lbs...

I know that I am anemic, very low iron levels, and I am also being treated for strep throat right now. Perhaps that factored into my feeling of tipsiness?

Re: What is it like for you on Klonopin?
I suppose it;s normal but i take up to 20 mg of clonazepam a day (spaced out over the course of the day) and i feel fine. But then, I'm a fucking junky so figure. The best ones are the morning k-pins. They make you feel super nice :)

I don't remember. But I'll be damned if 2005 and 2006 didn't pass by in the course of about a week or so.

That's what benzos do.
qft. Benzos = alcohol in a pill. It's basically the doctor's way of telling you to drink in public everywhere you go but you don't get public intoxication or driving while drunk charges while on it.

no, it isnt. i mean it IS addicting, but not even close to opiates. the biggest thing about benzo addiction is the withdrawls

I'm guessing your a weekend xanax warrior who thinks that a bar or two every couple weekends makes benzos great eh? You couldnt be furthur from the truth.
EDIT- Nevermind, I just saw your thread about 'scoring' .5mgs of klonopin after 8 months of trying to con your doctor to give you benzos. That just makes you a complete n00b when it comes to them and a complete fucking moron in my book.
Benzos are fucking hell, they are a lifesaver to people with severe anxiety issues/panic disorders and insomniacs, but you pay a huge price for that 'luxury'. Don't even start, thats the best advice I could give you.
but i take up to 20 mg of clonazepam a day (spaced out over the course of the day) and i feel fine

What the fuck are you talking about? Benzos are just, if not more addicting then opiates. Just because more people prefer opiates doesnt make then any more or less addictive then benzos. Benzo withdrawals are also much more severe then opiate withdrawals as you said, so if you think kicking an oxy habit is hell your in for a big surprise my freind. True anxiety suffers can get addicted to benzos just as easily as someone who suffers from chronic pain can get addicted to opiates.

Re: What is it like for you on Klonopin?
damn guys chill, what i mean is that (for the general population) opiates are more addictive than benzos.
for people with anxiety problems (which i know for a fact PoC, streetpharmacist, and myself all have) benzos can be extremely addictive because they stop the persons suffering.
and like i said, as bad that opiate withdrawl is infamously known for, benzo withdrawl is much, much worse, and can include death if not done properly.

quoted for the very sad truth...debilitating anxiety plus a readily supply of benzos can spiral out into a viscious cycle until........

Re: What is it like for you on Klonopin?
I'd say benzos are more addictive than opiates. After you start using them, you truly, 100% need them to function, and there's no other option.
With opiates, you can at least get on suboxone or methadone if things get out of hand.
I've had withdrawls from both, and the rebound insomnia and anxiety from benzos is hell beyond belief.

You have professional help with your doctor.
Why come to a forum of children to ask about something as serious as your life?

I hope that was not in reference to me. I do not take drugs/prescriptions recreationally as I have seen the harm they can cause. The reason I am here on this forum is because my doctor is hard to get a hold of, and when I can get a hold of him, he tends to blow things off.
A friend actually pointed this forum out to me a few years ago, and I figured, oh what the hell why not ask.
My comment about sharing any funny side effect stories, was a joke, because I am capable at laughing at myself when stupid shit happens. For instance, while on vicodin after having my wisdom teeth removed, I was so disoriented that I ended up giving my self a black eye while attempting to get into a car.
I don't consider medication something to be toyed with. At one point I did, but I have long since grown out of that stage.
