I usually pick them up at Garage sales or look for rare ones in lots. I turn them at pawn shops, online, etc. I make fairly decent money, just takes some time to know rare ones and how much you can get them for.
Another good way is to buy consoles and replace the shitty metallic readers (the ones that cause you to fidget with the game before it works) with new ones. Easy and cheap. You can get crappy consoles for next to nothing and sell them for close to $50.
Off topic, I can see them being worth something in the distant future but nothing will cause them to spike in value.
