Default Parent's attitude to weed

Just wondering for those who's parents know about them smoking weed what their attitude is on it?
Mum found out today with me .. just smelt it as I had been stoned round at a friends house and wasn't able to get all the smell off me .. so she goes on at me asking if I've been smoking 'dope' etc .. after I make it clear that I'm *not* going to be a terrible person for it and that I've not been having that much she's 'ok' with it 'as long as I don't get into it' Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

My dad hasn't found out yet I don't think but he'd probably be totally fine with it .. he does admit to smoking it a bit in the past so ..

Mine pretty much say they don't want me doing it, but they're not going to stop me, as I'll be a legal adult in less than a month. I do keep it out of the house though, out of respect.

My mother always told me she never had a big problem with weed, but she'd kick my ass if she caught me smoking cigarettes. Her logic was a person smoking weed doesn't smoke nearly as much as somebody who smokes cigarettes, so cigarettes present a greater health risk in the end.

Smart lady.

I smoke with my mom and grandma, and did even when I lived with them and my dad and grandpa are indifferent to it.

My father is an oncologist who specializes in lung cancer.
Therefore- if he knew i smoked, he would be heartbroken.

My mother is a child psychiatrist who treats the retards who have a history of mental illness in their families who go ahead regardless and smoke shitloads of the stronger hybrids of 'ganj out today, therefore experiencing -in full force- the [inevitable] insanity-based repercussions.
Therefore- if she knew i smoked the reefer, she would be heartbroken.

You see, it's a lose-lose situation i have here. Still, i learn to adapt to it.. like an eskimo; adapting to the harsh Arctic climate.

my parents found out... checked me out of school early that day only telling me and my sister "we need to talk"...

i came home to find my room torn all to fuck, bed was upside down, drawers out, closet thrown onto my floor in my room....

we were sat down and yelled at, eventually they asked us what we had to say and we pointed out the half smoked joint in the drawer next to them and they were like "your not going to turn this around on us" and we were just like "well you were saying you had never done it before"... they asked us where we got the bongs and weed from and we made up some fake people.

We were both grounded until further notice, my sister being the manipulative person she is got out of it in a week, and given that our parents believe in equal opportunity punishment, i got out as well....

oh and my mom flushed a 1 gram beautiful kush nug down the toilet... that hurt...

My mom smokes so of course she has no problem with me doing it. She just says "be careful"...

My dad does not smoke pot, and is against me smoking it, but only because it is illegal and he doesn't want me getting in trouble. He feels it should be legalized.

My mom (who passed away) caught me once, she was alright with it, she had smoked before. She never told my dad.

I've known where my dad keeps his roachs since I was twelve, I've asked him what he is doing and he say's having a hoot. I've smoked pot with his friends. He has caught me a couple random times and is quite indifferent. He just says no coke.

both of my parents know, at first back in highschool, then gave me the "come to jesus" speech, i laughed it off. but once i turned 18 i could walk outside smoke a joint and walk back in.

my mom came to me and said that she would still be smoking weed to this day if it didnt make her so paranoid (she said the paranoia (spelling) started after about 2 years of smoking) but she doesnt mind, as long as i dont start puffing while cooking dinner in the kitchen

the rule at my house was don't do it inside, don't get arrested, and don't get bad grades. as long as those three things didn't happen my parents didn't have a problem with me smoking weed. but that was in high school, now they just make fun of me for it.

When my 'rents found my sharps, they blew a gasket - and rightly so.

I've had my own place for quite a while now - and even still - they refuse to see me if they know I'm doing dope.

They're fine with bud, though.

yeah i am really going to take pride in the fact that i will take a mature and informed approach to drugs with my kids (at least try to).

my fear is i would get to relaxed; as opposed to my current situation- my parents are idiots when it comes to drugs.

my parents were cool with me smoking around the house after they busted me about 15 times and then the police busted me outside their house and it cost them a grand to get me out of it.

their reasoning behind it is that A) it keeps me from getting fucked up out of the house B) it helps them moniter the extent of my smoking and that C) if they are okay with this it will keep me from becoming a victim of the god damn gateway theory.

all make sense except the third considering my current situation, but i don't contribute it in the slightest to the gateway theory. i contribute it to simple desire and genetic predisposition.

I always fucking hated the "gateway" theory. It doesn't make sense - at ALL.

Chances are that a LARGE PERCENTAGE (as always, there are exceptions) of us first tried alcohol (whether we got drunk or not is irrelevant).

You don't see people calling alcohol the "gateway" drug.

My mother pretty much does not care that I smoke weed. She's said since I started smoking (more often) I've been happier than I have in years.

It's true, but that would be more the side effects from the hallucinogens :p

either way, I just burn lots of incense and run my air ionizer every couple of days and my room smells ridiculously clean all the time.

I think it's honestly got to do with the fact that I used to do so much other shit, she's probably glad I've chosen something thats fairly harmless over shit that was giving me seizures/withdrawals/not fun times/etc.

I always liked the gateway theory because it's true. Everyone smokes the herb. Some people choose to move on to "harder" drugs, some go back to sobriety, but everyone smokes, has smoked, or will smoke bud in the future. Of course the reasoning that you don't have a choice in the matter is complete and utter bullshit.

Both my parents know about me smoking and are actually completely opposite about it. Both of my parents have told me that they used to smoke a shitload when they were kids and my dad is still fine with it, I smoke up with my step-mom(parents are seperated) all the time and Ive smoked hash with my dad because he says that weed is too harsh or strong for him.

Now on the other hand I unfortunatly live with the one who hates it, although I dont believe she actually hates it but that my step-dad treats it like im going around sticking needles in my arm and that hes giving her the cock so she does whatever the fuck he says which has fucked me over alot in the past. A couple weeks ago I cleaned my bowl with some tweezers and didnt clean them and my step-dad found them and for some reason put them in his mouth and just went apeshit when I guess he tasted the resin, and another time I remember coming home and my pipes and bong were outside along the side of the house because he went about snoopingthrough my room like he thinks its his job. Basically he has some fucked up idea that the cops have these magical sences and are going to know that the house has drugs in it and bring the DEA in for a bust. Its literally fucked

Now what is really fucked is the fact that only about 10 years ago before my mom met my step-dad she was throwing parties all the time at our house, alcohol, scales all over, weed and bongs and drunk people beating the shit out of each other. Sucks that I was too young to even know what was going on cause I wish I could have been having a good time too. Never knew some assholes cock could change a person so much, I dont even want to be around my mom anymore because of how she acts like him. Sorry for the long post but I hate that dickhead. lol

I think that any drug can be the "gateway drug" it just depends on what you try first. the media just puts that propaganda bullshit onto weed because its the most common drug. I think that its the point when you get that new feeling, if you went you whole life not doing any drugs you wouldnt know what your missing but once you get that first feeling you just want feel the variety. I remember doing the "Im just sticking to weed" Ive done a couple more drugs though and theres still more I want to experience.

When I first started smoking me and my best friend would smoke up with his dad alot of the time, pretty much since thats where we got the majoity of the weed. It was weird at first since when you think of a parent finding out they try and stop you but his dad was like go ahead.

hard drug use is predisposed in your mind if you ask me. deep down i always knew i would never be happy with eating vics, drinking beer and smoking nasty schwag back when i was 12 years old. i've been addicted to just about everything under the sun except meth now 8 years later.

12345.

I know now, that addiction was just something waiting to be unlocked deep within me.

I tried every drug there was, fruitlessly searching for that perfect mind set, that "right" high.

Needless to say, I found heroin and heroin found me then - *BOOM*! Addict! Never found anything else that worked as well as dope did. I don't know why I'm typing all this. Living alone doesn't help either.

Christ, I'm a depressed, miserable junkie fuck.

My mom was super pissed. Shes convinced it'll lead me to become a meth-head and fuck up my life.

I argued everytime I got busted (only like 3 times) until she busted me for adderall. That proved her point enough for me to not bother arguing if I ever get busted again (which I bet will only be a matter of time).

My mom has her opinion on drugs and I can't change it, no use in me trying to fight it. All I can do is keep it secret until I can move out and then she won't care what I do anymore.

My dad might suspect I smoke bud but since he's too worried about being able to keep seeing me so he won't say anything. He knows pot is safer than cigarettes and alcohol and would rather have it legal than anything else, but he's never tried it. I would really like to be able to tell him (and maybe smoke with him) since it'd make shit easier for me.
