I think it's totally true, and I think it goes a lot further down the chain. I was homeless a few months ago and 5 Irish girls took me in, so obviously it's easily possible for your (slightly bellow) average male.

But fat girls, ugly people and creepy looking guys are fucked.

I don't consider myself ugly, and I've been living on the street before and no one took me in. I was in a city where I didn't know much of anyone, my family wouldn't talk to me, and any friends I had were also homeless.

Go to a public pool, shower and wash your self in the change rooms, throw on some clean clothes, beg for some money, go to a club, stand around giving people 'the eye' and when they come over be really suggestive and flirt heaps, give them a sob story and play with their heart strings. Eventually, one will be willing to take you in.

Yeah it's true, but it's no way to live at all.

I knew this girl last year who was in the same group of friends as me. Long story short, she had problems with her dad and ran away from home. Now she's living with random guys who are all older than 18, and she makes deals like "If you give me $300, you can do whatever you want to me for the whole day." She's also started using meth regularly. So essentially, it's a kind of fucked up way to live and you should only choose that path if you have no self respect whatsoever.

Not true at all. I'm the same as Saline. I may not be gorgeous but as far as dirty homeless chicks I wasn't bad looking. Didn't help at all.

You still have to pay for a public pool entrance, and when you can't afford a bite to eat how are you going to pay for that? Throw on some clean clothes? Where are you going to get clean clothes, wash them at the laundromat with what money?

I'm sorry, I have a hard time begging for money because I didn't want to and I was ashamed to. I was cold, miserable, depressed, and hopeless. I wasn't going to flirt with some dude and get railed because I needed a place to stay. I did try, but mostly I was looking out for myself and I wasn't going to lower my standards just because of a situation that I placed myself in. I might of had nothing, but I still had pride.

Now, however, I have a kickass job, a cozy apartment, two awesome dogs, a gorgeous horse and a really thoughtful, sexy boyfriend. I now have a decent relationship with my family, and my life is going exceedingly well because I worked for it, and I didn't take any handouts.

Firstly I'd just like to say I'm not glorifying homelesness, as a short term adventure it would be kick ass. As a long term lifestyle it would weigh you down, you'd stop thinking of interesting things to do and just start to 'rot' in misery. But until then...

I think it's all about how you value and present yourself. I'm not overly attractive but when I was homeless for a couple months, at 19, I got quite a few offers from seemingly nice older guys who invited me to move in with them. I declined on the possibility of being raped and cut up into little pieces, but the offers were still pretty kind.
