I was talking to a friend yesterday and we were talking about which is absolutely needed in a relationship- looks or personality. My friend said that she'd definitely rather be with a guy who is an attractive asshole than with a homely character. I know from experience that a guy with the greatest personality won't cut it with just his mind. As well as being with a cute guy who is fucking annoying.

People are in these kind of relationships all the time. But honestly, without having both qualities at once, would you rather choose looks or personality?

I won't take an ugly chick with a great personality sorry. I will however take a decent girl with a few personality flaws. You can work in moderation, extremes are too ridiculous.

i guess i'd rather a plain looking guy with a charming personality than a hot dummy. i can't stand being around people that i can't have a conversation with, but then again if the guy was like borderline deformed he was so ugly - that's a tough one.

as long as he isn't revolting or grotesque, i think a charming personality, intelligence and unique sense of humor are all winners over looks any day in my book.

Well what I've noticed is the more you like someone the more attractive they seem to you, so the whole physical attraction scale kind of slides a little.

Then again, it's hard to get an initial traction to someone who is ugly, if you've never talked to em before. I guess both extremes kinda suck.

I'll take the hot bitch. It's easier to delude my mind into thinking she's really cool and smart than it is to delude my eyes into thinking a fugmo is hot.

I think there has to be both.
I'd rather be with someone who is decent looking and smart than someone who was super hot and had a lame personality.
But, you know, the physical attraction is like the ice breaker; it is what gets you to talk to them But you have to have a great personality to (or at least not be a total asshole/pervert) to keep the conversation going.
