Kids, listen up(needle discussion)
I just wanted to say this real quick, in here. I know most people are smart enough to stay away from the needle; I was not. Recently, my test results have come back positive for hep C; you'd think I'd be devastated. The truth is, I was relieved, I was only nervous about the results coming back with aids/hiv or any other diseases which are just very very difficult to control. Ultimately these diseases will take your life; and I've just found out a very close family member of mine has aids. She's terminal, she doesn't have very long to live anymore. Now I feel an enormous amount of guilt, I was the one that introduced her to herron. I've personally, and I can say this in complete honesty, have NEVER been addicted to any drug; I did share a needle once, my very first time I've shot and that's how I got hep C. Sharing needles is an insane practice; in retrospect, I'd have much rather played russian roulette. At least you'll die instantly and not have your death drug on for many, very very painful years.
Basically, even though I had never gotten addicted to it, she had followed my lead and quickly went from snorting to IVing, and got very strung out. And now she's only got a few short very painful years to live. Yesterday she stopped by, and she used my needle to shoot (THANK GOD ALMIGHTY I went first and she followed, then I trashed the rig...things could be SOOOO very different for me now because I only found out about this today). It doesn't matter how fucking sick you are, how bad you need dope in your system, sharing needles is literally a much more dangerous practice than holding a gun with one bullet. So, don't fucking SHARE NEEDLES, EVER. Even if nothing bad happens to YOU personally, you never know what could come of you using drugs in such a manner, and if you do, keep it the fuck away from others, PLEASE.
The crazy thing is, I've been taking my sister to a clinic (and supporting her drug habbit by taking her to go get the shit all the time, only so I can get high when I want to), and ALL my friends that I had ever gone to school with are now at the clinic, so fucking strung out it's unbelievable. Most of them with blood diseases now. It's just not worth it. And if only one person reads this and decides to not fuck with needles, then I'd be happy :).

Re: Kids, listen up(needle discussion)
Good advice man. I learned how quickly needles take over. I still catch myself feeling up my veins subconsciously and there used to be nights i couldn't sleep because that's all I could think about. I fucking hate them but I love them so much. The first time I shot I shared a needle too and luckily didn't catch anything. I remember it so well though. I told myself I'd never do coke or heroin any other way ever again and I suddenly felt like I had been wasting all the shit I ever snorted. Glad to be past that mindset.

Also, don't use dollar bills to snort powdered drugs. My cousin (former heroin addict) used to do lines with this guy who always used dollar bills (but never went on to heroin/needles) and ended up with hepatitis. Currency is fucking filthy and McDonald's straws are better anyway.

Yeah, true. A lot of junkies don't know that, many of them think needles are controlled. I know here, there's only ONE pharmacy, a CVS in the ghetto that will sell needles without a script. Even the other CVS' will absolutely not sell them without a prescription. But yeah, there cheaper than that really, a bag of 10 for me costs under 3 bucks. But again, there's only ONE pharmacy that sells them, and very few know about it. Other than that, there are no needle exchange programs, nothing like that at all.
I guess it's no surprise that aids is making a HUGE comeback here...

I can get needles anytime i want (i live in a state where you can buy them without a script at any pharmacy). But if you go in looking like a druggie/high they will tell you that you NEED a script. I always put on some nice clothes before i go get some (clothes that i would wear to a job interview). It's also not good to go in every week to get a new thing of needles, you should at least wait two.

WTF!? I'm not interested in psychedelics and somehow they are somewhat plentiful; but when it comes to the most widely abused prescription drug in the country I can't find it. I was once even offered a source for acid (which I reluctantly turned down). If I could find one I would, without a doubt, buy a bottle of oxy.

Hey, maybe that's a real blessing in disguise. Cocaine isn't that addictive (it is very short term, but not long term like opiates). Here, virtually EVERYONE is strung the fuck out. IF you bought a bottle of oxycontins and did all of them, you'd be sick when they were gone, probably.

Cocaine is injectable.
I have yet to see any coke that I would even consider shooting.
Granted, heroin is sometimes cut with some crazy shit; but the people who manufacture/sell it know some people may want to shoot it so they are careful what they put in. With coke, they throw in anything that is white and powdery. (My first bag of coke was about 30% baking soda, probably 55% other shit. That's why you don't buy coke when you are 15.)

I actually have pretty good self control. As far as cocaine goes, I never really got hooked, I did lines until it was gone and waited months to buy another bag.
I've taken bottles of Vicoden (not all at once), handfuls of percocet. I realize heroin/en masse oxy is whole different beast, but I think that I could give it a try without a debilitating addiction; I wouldn't be the first.

Re: Kids, listen up(needle discussion)
^lol, yeah, you didn't get addicted to vicodin so by all means bang heroin. You won't get addicted.
E: You are right that in the sense you might not get addicted, but trust me, its not worth the risk.
Pro= Awesome high for a few hours
Con= Possibly a serious addiction that ruins your life or actually kills you.
Not worth it.
I'm not even an addict and I regret messing around with oxy and other opiates. I haven't used the shit for months and never will again.
2nd E: And I'll just let you know, I've done coke quite a few times, and fucking good coke too, the kind that numbs your entire face and all your teeth and makes you feel like you are god. I can easily not do coke. I've never even been close to getting addicted to the stuff. Same with every drug. Opiates are the only class that almost conquered me, and now I know to stay away from them. They are crazy addictive.
this thread is giving me cravings... I remember the first time I shot oxy... I got the needle in first try but while I was unwrapping the skipping rope around my arm the needle fell out and I had to do it all over again. When I finally got it in I slowly pushed the plunger and instantly I felt warmer, happier, relaxed. I was in a dimly lit room and all the lights got really bright in a flash (oxy does that to me). In about 5 seconds I went from being sober and craving to being in heaven. Its just too addictive.

Eh, all this is VERY true, but if you see other junkies all the time and are just busy, it's pretty easy to use it semi responsibly (as responsibly as heroin/OCs can be used), and not get hooked. It's about enjoying it on single day occasions, NEVER go back to back days doing it. That leads to more back to back days, which VERY quickly leads to addiction.
Even people that do heroin once a week will find themselves needing more and more to get high. ONLY ONCE A WEEK. So yeah, there's a HUGE potential for OD and addiction.

Dude you remember the high forever, and you remember it as the best moment of your life. You will always want to feel it again. Always.
I wish I didn't know what opiates feel like. I wish I could erase all my memories of the shit. I would be happier without those memories.
Whatever though, learn the hard way if you really want to.

Was in zurich and i was fairly drunk. Bought the best best of smack ever. Wake up the next day have needle marks in my legs and that strange abcessy feeling under the bottom of my right arm from doing a stupid muscle shot. Am I worried? No. It's Zurich. Free needles for everyone. Was so doped out and i lost my junk though. A real good time. My swansong. Best dope ever. Was stoned off a taste of it. Still the lack of memory.... can imagine myself in a shooting gallery with my trousers down looking for somewhere to shoot. Ha ha ha. I'd say I was a funny sight. Zurich is ze junkies heaven.

I've never done heroin but I can still imagine how it could possibly feel. Simply put, heroin raises the bar of happiness, thus everything else doesn't seem as exciting or fun.
Since heroin is top of the line, best of the best ultimate high you will ever have, nothing in life could possibly satisfy you the way heroin could. Every time you feel ultra happy from accomplishments, drugs, or relationships--you know that feeling only comes 2nd place behind heroin. So that's why I don't fuck with that shit, because it literally makes your life seem like a waste of time or second rate whenever you're not high.

Yeah fuck that, when i do speed at work, i always think man work will never be this fun sober...this will never be as great, etc, etc. I would never fucking want that. Fuck heroin, maybe if i was going to die in a week or something, but as long as i plan on living i won't touch that.

Re: Kids, listen up(needle discussion)
I prefer the 28gauge 1cc-1/2cc longs.
I'm fairly certain I can get 29 gauge, but if not; would 25 gauge be too large?

This is the correct answer to OP's original statement. Needles are not the problem, it's your inability to properly understand the spread of life-threatening disease. If you knew from the very beginning how dangerous it is to share a needle with someone you and the family member you speak of would not being having said problems. I'm sorry for your loss and situation but don't blame the drug, nor the needle. If you need to find the guilty party you need only but to look into a mirror.
Stay safe,
Bos

That makes me fucking cringe, dude. Do you know how dull that shit gets after just ONE use??
not even exaggerating it has pierced my skin over 100 times. glad to retire that motherfucker. as far as my preference goes- it's all about the 29/30 gauge 1cc ultra fine short tips.

Your arm must look like a fuckin pin cushion. Still working on collapsing those elbow veins? I don't know why, but 1cc always looks like it's a bigger barrel than necessary; I'm probably going to go with 1/2cc.
Are the arms on the underside of my forearms O.K. to use? My elbow veins are just naturally small and hard to see, but my forearms have visible veins. Even more visible are my hand veins, though they are more noticeable and will probably bruise more. amIrite?

I pierced my nipple with an 18 gauge. It hurt. I let it close up.
