Weed as a de-congestant?
One of the "side effects" I often get from weed is that my sinuses get loosened up and my nose becomes de-congested along with alot of phlegm in my throat.
I know there are alot of ways to do this but smoking weed actually seems like a very effective way to unblock a blocked nose and you get baked as a bonus.

Hot peppers work way better because you dont have to smoke them.

.
I have noticed this effect too.
Its seems to have something to do with the varity of pot.
Not all pot does this.
Its weird sitting there and you can feel your sinuses open & then for the next 20 mins theres a feeling of liquid trickling down the back of your throat.
Clears the ears & opens the nose.
This is a reason that pot should be tested for its other abilitys.

Re: Weed as a de-congestant?
THC exhibits expectorant properties, so yea.
However, I think smoking weed regularly for congestion would prove counterproductive. Eventually, inhaling all that smoke would cause you to have more phlegm in your throat.
Vaping and eating could possibly work long term.
However, considering we already have better OTC expectorants, I wouldn't be hoping for a legalization of weed based on that.
