Default Quck PuTTY question

I'm using PuTTY to connect from my vista comp to a server running gentoo. How can I close the connection but have the server continue to run whatever app that I was using? IE I'm running a game server and want it to stay running without me having to keep my vista comp on.

Forking it to the background might work if it doesn't require a controlling TTY. This is done like this:

[root@localhost]# command &

Using the ampersand.

The dirty way:
/usr/bin/nohup command arguments
DON'T FORGET THE /USR/BIN, it's better not to use the shell built-in nohup.
The clean way:
Use GNU screen.
