Cleaning a glass bowl with sulfuric acid?
Ok, so i've been soaking my bowl in rubbing alcohol for the past couple days and swabbing it out with q-tips to get the weed resin out but theres still a lot in there that i cant get. i have access to the chemistry lab at my school and i was just wondering if there is anything else i could use that would be better suited to removing resin. it doesnt necessarily have to be sulfuric acid, really just anything that would work...
boiling is not an option.
my teacher is pretty cool so even if she did catch me in the act of cleaning out my bowl, she probly wouldnt care. i dont want it to be too obvious tho. i'll probly do it while shes out of the room anyway so this isnt really an issue.

Re: Cleaning a glass bowl with sulfuric acid?
Just don't use a high water to S. Acid ratio with the Sulfuric acid as it makes it hot....my grandad was a chemist and had to clean up an old lab full of chemicals he had no idea what they were. He went to rinse a beaker with S. Acid in it and the story ends with him jumping in the lake behind his office (saftey rinse shower didn't work) and holes in his underwear.
Why cant you boil it?
Anyone: If he used S. Acid what would be the health risk of using his pipe again/how can he make sure he got all the S. Acid out.

if she sees you, shes gonna report you 99% of the time.
also, you cant just steal a small bottle of the stuff?

half of her family is comprised of weed smokers and she has admitted herself that she would smoke if it was legal.
she also knows im not a RETARD stoner.
shes seen me high at the mall before, so its not like she doesnt already know that i smoke.
i just dont wanna try boiling it at home because theres almost always someone else home and i dont wanna risk messing up any of my parents cooking ware or anything

ok........that didnt really answer the main question of stealing over doing it in a classroom. besides, assume she does see you. its her job to report it. or if another teacher sees you.

Re: Cleaning a glass bowl with sulfuric acid?
The trick is to put salt in the pipe, then ad rubbing alcohol, and shake it. Make sure you get the 99% rubbing alc tho cuz the 70% will dissolve a lot of salt.

Re: Cleaning a glass bowl with sulfuric acid?
You could buy a jug of glass cleaner concentrate. The blue stuff that you're supposed to dilute with water before using it in a spray bottle to clean windows.
Just pour some of that concentrate with a little bit of water, or no additional water at all, and let the bowl soak in the jar overnight or 24 hours or some reasonable time span.
Once its done soaking you just rinse it in water and all the resin just falls out.
That method ALWAYS worked for me.
Also, before soaking, heating the bowl up to the point of producing smoke from the resin always made the cleaning process more effective. Even if you decide against inhaling the repulsive resin smoke.
