where is my mind?
Default a friend of mine (guy) may be a carrier of HPV

unfortunately he found a good amount of information showing he is a probable carrier. his ex from ~4 months ago now has stage hpv and stage 1 cervical cancer blah blah blah. i dont know if shes slept with anyone after him but the worst part about it is that there is no test to see if you are in fact a carrier. you can just hope you aren't and have every girl you sleep with get tested for cancer...
any advice i can give to him? any guys here probable carriers with actual experience? thanks in advance.

Tell him to sleep with all the materialistic whores he can find. He can sell off everything he has to pay for gifts and shit which will get them in bed, because at the end when he is poor, he can just blow his brains out.

There's no way to test for it, so he should just wear condoms. He doesn't know if he has it, and her getting cancer isn't evidence that he gave it to her. It's more likely she got it earlier because cancer takes a while to develop.

What are the risk factors for HPV infection and cervical cancer?
Having many sexual partners is a risk factor for HPV infection. Although most HPV infections go away on their own without causing any type of abnormality, infection with high-risk HPV types increases the chance that mild abnormalities will develop and progress to more severe abnormalities or cervical cancer. However, even among the women who do develop abnormal cell changes with high-risk types of HPV, only a small percentage would develop cervical cancer if the abnormal cells were not removed. As a general rule, the more severe the abnormal cell change, the greater the risk of cancer. Studies suggest that whether a woman develops cervical cancer depends on a variety of factors acting together with high-risk HPVs. The factors that may increase the risk of cervical cancer in women with HPV infection include smoking and having many children (5).

Can HPV infection be prevented?
The surest way to eliminate risk for genital HPV infection is to refrain from any genital contact with another individual.

For those who choose to be sexually active, a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner is the strategy most likely to prevent genital HPV infection. However, it is difficult to determine whether a partner who has been sexually active in the past is currently infected.

HPV infection can occur in both male and female genital areas that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in areas that are not covered. Although the degree of protection provided by condoms in preventing HPV infection is unknown, condom use has been associated with a lower rate of cervical cancer.

In 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Gardasil®, a vaccine that is highly effective in preventing infection with types 16 and 18, two “high-risk” HPVs that cause most (70 percent) cervical cancers (4), and types 6 and 11, which cause most (90 percent) genital warts (5).

I think I'm probably a carrier, but it doesn't really affect me so I could care less. I certainly don't go to any effort to wear condoms because of it or anything.

I think the statistic is, if you slept with 2 diffrent parteners.....there is a 80% chance you have HPV. Hell i probally have it, and No condoms dont stop it. Ever got a wart on your finger? Do you go sounding the alarms when it happens?

Ever get a wart on your dick? I havn't but the bottom line is, its not uncommon for HPV to spread. Why the fuck do you think they invented a vaccine for women? Because they dont want so many god damned people to have it, and have a RISK of cervical cancer. Then again what the fuck doesnt cause cancer these days?

You gonna bitch and moan from the guy smoking a ciggarete as he walks pass you on the sidewalk? Because statistics show it COULD give you cancer. Millions of things in life, COULD give you cancer.

Yeah, who cares? Girls should get regular paps anyway, so it doesn't really make a difference.

HPV effects men, you are wrong on that. You can have HPV for a while and not know it..and for women left undiagnosed/untreated then can cause cervical cancer...Men can get the wart things on their dicks, but as far as how else it would effect a man I am not sure. Statistically WOMEN can give it to a man FASTER and its MOST LIKELY the method of transfer versus a man giving it to women. Women are common carriers. IMO men get the short end of the stick on this issue.

AND...

Its like 80% or 75% of women will get it at some point in their lives...and out of all of those..even though it is classified as "viral" meaning you pretty much have it always...a lot of women actually get rid of it from their bodies..meaning in a lot of cases after 2 or 3 years...it CAN be cleansed from your system. Meaning if you had it in 2000 and all..you got treated for it...well its possible the virus left your body and you do not have it anymore...its weird..some get it and it can go away from their system..

There are around 100 strains. Some cause hand warts, some cause foot warts, some cause genital warts. The genital wart strain and the cervical cancer strain are different. Condoms don't protect against HPV. There is no test for men.

The only thing that can be done is have all women vaccinated with guardasil. That's it.
