Default liquor: most bang for your buck?

i just started buying liquor. before i thought it was too expensive, but it's really not. i bought a liter of evan williams bourban for like $10 and i've gotten really drunk from it like 4 times, and still have enough to get really drunk one more time.

is there any liquor that will get you drunk cheaper though?

Lulz, mix it with something plox...that concentration of ethanol can damage your throat and mouth tissues. Mix a bit in some juice or somethin', you know.

get mouthwash and boil it.and the vapour will be a high concentrate of liquor.

or get a cheap bottle of vodka and boil it. the alcohol boils at a lower temperature than the water so the end product will be a higher proof drink

Mouthwash ethanol is denatured, imbecile. That's a good way to lose your mouth tissue.

Is ten dollars for a fucking liter really too expensive for you? Buying the even cheaper hard alcohol is a horrible mistake everyone makes at least once. Try not to repeat it, and enjoy your rotgut ya covetous bastard.

You might want to give some thought as to what you just said.

OP, buy 95% Ethanol and mix it down to 30% or whatever you like, or just buy the cheapest, highest percentage alcohol you can find and mix it with something to make it palatable. Alcohol is so cheap and I'm such a light weight that I prefer to spend a bit on taste and not have to stomach downing cheap vodka.

If you're really that cheap, then go with Dubra Vodka, its like 6 dollars for a 750. Let me warn you though, this bastard gives some of the roughest hangovers ever conceivable by man. Just don't be a cheap bastard and buy something decent like Jim Beam, or a flavored vodka by smirnoff, absolut, or svedka. Svedka being the cheapest of the three vodkas I mentioned.

Moonshine.

One mason jar is pretty expensive, but will last you quite some time.

The drunk of it is like nothing you have ever experienced.

It is the cheapest, if you have some copper, some heat, corn mash, time and a little privacy.

Take a sip my ass.

I bought everclear to conserve and still ended up drinking about as much vodka as I drink to get drunk. Don't ask me how, just know that i drank ~6 oz of Everclear (half the bottle) and I usually drink about 8 shots of vodka to get fucked up. (and it's the 95% shit)

But I swear never to drink that shit again, because i was taking a shot before school one morning on an empty stomach, and as soon as the shot went down i felt gut wrenching pain and i instantly projectile vomited 3 or 4 times, and then coughed a shit load until my eyes were blood shot red. That was pretty fucking shitty.

oh, and buy Kentucky Deluxe.

Smirnoff and Grey goose are opposite ends of the spectrum. Smirnoff is a pretty average price, around $13. Grey goose is ridiculously overpriced, usually over $30 a bottle. I think it costs around $40 here. Absolut is also another highly advertised, shitty vodka. Buy svedka. It's actually a really good vodka, and it's fairly cheap. Here's it's $20 for 1.75L. It mixes really well, and you can take shots of it with no problems.

Don't go drinking Everclear or anything 95% ABV. That stuff will ruin you. Save up and buy at the very least one of the name brands like Bacardi or Smirnoff. They're the bottom line you shouldn't cross when it comes to quality.

If you want good, cheap rum, I suggest Appletons and Cruzan. Sailor Jerry's is more expensive, but it's good. Gosling's is nice every so often. Flor de cana is excellent if you can find it. Usually I just drink Cruzan Light Rum aged 2 years. They now age it for only 14 months, and the taste difference is huge since they age it in oak, unlike Bacardi which is pointlessly left in steel for a year (which does not age it at all). Try Bacardi anyway. It's good for mixing or taking shots.

For cheap whiskey, you've already found my drink of choice. I like to get Evan Williams every so often. The 1L size is great. You can also try Canadian Mist, Weller's, or something in that price range. Jack Daniels is over priced. Evan Williams tastes similar enough that I don't buy jack anymore. Jim Beam is pretty harsh, in my opinion. The black label (aged 8 years) is good, but a little overpriced considering it's still harsh. Evan Williams is pretty damn smooth for the price.

For vodka, get Svedka, Kutskova if they have it, or Sobieski. Kutskova costs $9 for 750ml around here, and I can't taste any difference between it and Grey goose. It's far better than Stolichnaya or Absolut, both of which are way overpriced. Vodka is the cheapest spirit to produce. They don't age it, and they only need to use one type of grain to produce it (or potatoes, etc). There's no mixing and no special process it goes through. Vodka should be cheap.

Save up and buy decent shit. Don't buy the giant, cheap 1.75L jugs that cost $7. That stuff is disgusting and it's far better to just save another $5 and buy something that actually tastes good. You can buy good rum, vodka, and whiskey for $10-$13. Most of the ones I listed fall within this price range. Since you're just starting out, you should try a variety of things and see what you like. Since you're drinking whiskey, I'd suggest trying out a few rums too. Just remember to drink in moderation, especially since you're new to it.

My fave for vodka is iceburg vodka from canada. I have yet to see it in the states but it is the best vodka I have had in my life and I have had my fair share of all drinks. For whiskey, I have been buying alot of jack lately but I really have not figured out which one I like the most. Jack has been the longest running fave yet though.

One shitty thing about Canada is the liquor is so god damn expensive. A 40oz of Colt up here costs nearly $7 CDN. It's 8.0% but still, what the fuck. Even a 2'6 of Smirnoff is like 30 bucks.

If you live in the states, pretty much anything will be more bang for your buck in comparison.

No it's not. It's mouthwash, putting denatured alcohol in your mouth would fuck you up and cause many a lawsuit for listerine corp.

But don't do that thing he suggested. Trying to distill mouthwash will still not remove some of the chemicals which fuck up your digestive system and give you the shits.

I'm totally over vodka for the most part but there's a brand called "UV" that's surprisingly good and pretty cheap, though it's far from the best bang for your buck. For that my alcoholic buddy would head down to CVS and pick up some $9 handles of their store brand whiskey, though they have vodka, gin, burbon, etc. Nice selection and drinkable. Also, brewing wine in your closet yields something that tastes somewhat shitty but will fuck you up pretty quick. Juice (sugar if you're cheap), yeast, water, a jug, and a balloon or condom over the top with a pinhole in the top is all you need. Personally I'm a fan of $2 Chuck (Charles Shaw) from Trader Joe's...

as a side note, i've been told that filtering the cheapest vodka you can find through a Brita pitcher a few times will give you something much more drinkable.

lol thats why every rapper mentions these obscenely retarded drink combinations such as the one you mentioned.. lol you are lashing out pretty bad i guess i am sorry for exposing the shittyness behind your drink..

man are you trolling, or what?

sprite with a jolly rancher tastes good as hell unless you use a lemon one. i think they taste like the old Sprite Remix, a drink sprite used to make before they canceled in a couple years ago.

what music do you listen to? emo?

You're a fucking retard. Mike Jones is one of the WORST rappers ever. I think I've heard like two of his songs. That shit you said doesn't even make sense. If you are like comparing it to sizzurp, I didn't even get the idea from sizzurp. I put Jolly Ranchers in after I noticed it tasted like them. Fuck you.

Having your password the same as your username sounds like something an 8 year old would do.

grow the fuck up.

Those are all good pours, IMO, and should be under $20 a fifth. Cheapest is very likely the Evan Williams Black, which is rarely above about $12 a fifth and is selling at my local liquor spot for $10.25 on sale. 86 proof and good enough quality to need little more than a couple cubes of ice and a glass.

If you don't mind spending a few more bucks, get some Elijah Craig 12 for about $20; it's one of the best values in bourbon, IMO. And finally, for a bit heftier price of roughly $28, Knob Creek will certainly treat you right.

I was starting to think I was the only whiskey drinker left here....damn vodka people...

I would have to agree with ^

Everclear... it's like 90-95% alcohol by volume. If you're a lightweight like me one or two drinks should do it(I could NOT do shots of everclear... respect to anyone who can, though!)

Lulz, mix it with something plox...that concentration of ethanol can damage your throat and mouth tissues. Mix a bit in some juice or somethin', you know.

it can also kil you by rupturing your throat and then you drown in your own blood, or drown on your own vomit, etc...

well,if spending 10 bucks for a liter of whiskey is too steep for you to pay for,im gonna have to say the best bang for your buck is probably gonna be to buy a bullet and rent a gun and go from there.

as far as cheap booze goes,im gonna say EJ brandy is the best. good dark liqour with a mildy pleasant taste and it gets you fucked with the quickness for 16.99 for 1.75 liters.
