Identical tripping experiences
Something that has always amazed me is how chemicals introduced to two different individuals can produce the same experience. How can this happen? I've always read about people on the same hallucinogen who hallucinate and see the same exact thing.
Of course there's always similar experiences (colors, visual morphing, patterns and trails) but what about people who see the same exact thing as someone half a world over?
Salvia for instance has been reported to make dozens of people laugh uncontrollably. I've experienced this a few times myself and it's exactly like the trip reports that I've read. At first I thought it was something along the lines of the idea being implemented in your head and you subconsciously act it out but it's obviously much deeper than that.
I just read a shitty article on the front page about a girl who overdosed on sleep medication and described seeing millions of tiny spiders on the wall, the same experience I had when I was 15 and took excessive amounts of diphehnhydramine with my friends(I was stupid).
This isn't new, shared and identical experiences with psychedelics have been reported for as long as tripping balls has been around and from my understanding there's no solid scientific explanation for this phenomenon. Can anyone enlighten me? Anyone have any half baked theories? Does anyone find this as interesting as me?

There are always similar things people will experience while tripping/using drugs (I believe the spiders and diphen. actually has it's own thread somewhere around here.)
However, the experience itself always depends on the individual, especially with psychedelics.

Re: Identical tripping experiences
visuals tend to be very much similar to people because the drug acts on the same parts of the brain of both people.
thing breathing on drugs like LSD or mushrooms are just like you seeing spiders on benadryl like that girl... lots of people see bugs on deliriants, it just happens...
The line with most psychs ends with the visuals, whats going on it your head can only be very generalized to find things in common... euphoria, insight, strange thought patterns, shifts in perception of time...
For me acid trips are rarely the same as the last one. Some can be nerve wracking, others are the most blissful of states... The range of emotion and perception we can feel is crazy, some people experience pure terror, others its the happiest they will ever feel...
