Default The politics of dancing

I'm having another one of those..."WTF how does society work!?" moments.

Right, so these days I head to the clubs right a bit, have a few groups I go with and it's a small city full of young people so I end up meeting loads of friends, acquaintances and all the rest. People love to see me and I love to see them, a good time is almost always had.

Of course, as is natural, there are a few girls that have caught my eye that I know and dance with. I don't really know them outside of clubbing and the odd social event, but I'd be interested in getting to know them, seeing if there's any chemistry, that sorta thing. They have potential, and I'd like to test the waters.

But I have no idea how, in a club situation dancing with a bunch of people, you try and take things further with girls.

Ask if they want to go grab a drink for a bit and rest?

Dance...errr..closer to them? Really have no idea how that shit works... a lot of them initiate dancing "with me" but I'm really not sure what to do except carry on dancing while facing them:/

And, because this will effect the advice I get, I'm socially retarded, *not* a pussy. I dress up stupidly in a way that makes people pick fights with me, but I keep doing it because I think I look fucking cool that way. I love to dance (even sober!), try new moves and if a good song comes on I go crazy and generally don't give a shit etc etc. So it's not so much that I'm afraid, more clueless.

Can't see my clothes, but the eyeliner oft brings "tough guys" out of the woodwork...

Oh man...you actually go out like that? I can not wait to visit. That's fucking awesome. Can I get crazy eyeliner make up too :(? And can we learn a dance routine? Then face palm them with a glass/smash a bottle on the fuckers who start shit and act tough?

Dude....I never thought you went out to ordinary clubs on ordinary nights with that look. So. Fucking. Cool.

Talk to the girls and if it doesn't flow easily and smoothly you should take it as a sign that the girls aren't right for you. Your getting a drink while resting thing would work well. But you need to make a good impression. Also when girls ask you superficial generic questions just lie to them. It's fun and they deserve it for being monotonous.

"So what do you do?" could be answered with:

Lion tamer,
homeless,
telemarketer by day, rapist by night
Porn actor
Chechnyan undercover operative
Envelope licker etc

Should get laughs out of them. The one thing you need to figure out first and foremost is her type of humor. If you can make "rape" and "nigger" jokes, etc. Your humor is tainted by you years on totse and you need to find a girl who can take that. Make a joke and see how it goes. oh btw, try that thing I think I told you about a while ago: ask a girl if she had to fuck two people with a combined age of 20, how old would they be? If she laughs, she's good to talk to, if she gets all uppity, punch her in the ovaries.

Pics?

And yeah, the drink thing should work. Other than that I can't really think of anything when you are dancing? I wouldn't randomly say, "Hey can I get your number?" Unless you are already mid conversation.

Yeah, that's where I got the title from, though I never heard those mixes.

I used to really like some of his stuff, but nothing since Out There And Back

Anyway, I am going to town, approximately nowish. This thread better be chock full of advice for next weekend.

That's why I hate clubbing. You can't really talk, all you do is get drunk and dance to some shitty r'n'b music. Waste of time.

Some people are great at picking girls up on the dance floor, but generally it's a waste of time.
(though there was this once time that I just chance made eye contact with a girl, we both smiled then about 20 seconds later comes over and asks if I have a girlfriend)

Sometimes you might get lucky, but it's only luck and it's not like you'll get any better at being lucky, unless you have a knack for dancing you're better off chatting up girls in front of the bar.

The problem with clubs is that girls for the most part come there to dance with their friends, so you have to catch them when their guard is down otherwise you're history no matter how good your game is.
Use your hands when dancing with the next chick. I mean USE your hands, don't just leave them there motionless on her hips. Run them up and down her, pull her in close, turn her around and imitate ass fucking. Grab some ass, play fight etc. She'll get the idea.

Now that I see the picture, you say girls initiate dancing with you, maybe because they think you are gay? No disrespect, but it's a possibility.
BTW is that eyeliner suppose to be the thing from mirror's edge?

Believe it or not man, some girls just want nothing more than to dance with a guy for a while and thats it.
They like to dance, they enjoy the attention - but they might not want to get anywhere.

From what your saying it sounds like you should get one of these girls numbers and call them up.

Its usually pretty clear if theres something else happening there, but what move to make on the dancefloor is a hard choice.

Club scene is different from city to city - if all the clubs gotta close at the same time - make sure your still dancing at that time then just talk to the girl on the street as your leaving.
If the place is packed out then its possible that she

If its a 24 hour party palace, theres usually a level/room with house/chill/quieter music were you can go and talk - but you better have something interesting to say or it will be awkward as all fuck.

Fucking props for being out there though - when i go out and i see packs of dudes all crowding around a pool table or something dressed to the nines but without the game to get on the dancefloor.
The same tough guys who are probably getting into your face - but thats what the cities are like these days, i dont know why but they keep getting more violent.

I am not saying i am the smoothest fucking guy and most of the time do end up saying something dumb or anything of that nature. Usually at least once during the first time we meet it leaves both of us laughing about it. But most of what happens can be predicted fairly accurately.

With dancing the easiest thing to do is start to play with her hair because if she lets you play with her hair she will exhibit numerous signs saying she is interested. Only dance for one or two songs with her without any direct and clear communication. Once these first dances are done ask her if she wants a drink by making various motions imitating someone drinking with one hand while walking away towards the bar and holding her hand lightly like you are about to leave. At least 90% of the time. i mean at the very least 90% , the girl will come to have a drink. Order a very specific drink that is simple to make this will allow you to

A. See if she does remember the name of the drink and brings you one later, meaning she is REALLY into you.

or

B. See if she is adventurous, a Artisan trait and a good sign for a good time (Keirsey)

After the drink ask her if she wants to dance again and either grab her hand or put yours closer to hers. If she does anything other than start dragging you to the dance floor tell her you are glad you meet her and you think something came up (replace with a good story that may leave things open for later).

Repeat drinks suggesting that you stay hydrated and suggest that you leave to walk some where quieter, use Keirsey's temperament ideology to appeal to her various traits depending on said temperament.
Going somewhere after the club or party is usually very easily especially in Seattle with loads of local food places open late with a diverse group of other customers.

Business cards are a plus even if they say something simple with a very limited title such as a civil engineer. I find the easiest way to get around to seeing if she wants to do something later , which is usually a success if even the basics of temperament understanding is used, is appeal to said temperaments common hobbies and collaborate these hobbies that would overlap with your traits.

If either of you have to go for a legitimate reason she should ask you for the card or at the very least hand her the card as you or her gets dragged off.

A first date will usually come up around three in the afternoon usually the resulting Tuesday about plans for the weekend. I generally find it easier and much more successful if the first date does not involve going to a party and is usually keeping it really short like coffee or a small lunch at a fancy restaurant.

I will continue this later if even is actually interested in discussing further.

You would not believe that at least the majority of men/boys ,depending on your point of view, could not see themselves doing half of these things and do not make it a part of their everyday lives. I myself can not understand how work or school would be tolerable without females.
