Peyote V. San Pedro
So I was looking at the two and I was curious about what the recommended dosage would be for each...
How many buttons are there on a 4 year (3-4 cm) peyote cactus?
How many grams of shaved san pedro cactus tissue would be recommended for a strong trip, 28 grams or 56 grams?
Also, which is a more intense experience

Re: Peyote V. San Pedro
The only way to objectively compare cacti is to extract the mescaline. Beyond that, the variance from plant to plant is going to make precise dosage impossible.
The obvious benefits of san pedro are its faster growth and the fact that it's legal in its whole, unmolested form.

Yeah I know that...
I was planning on ordering it off line and it says you need anywhere from 9-24 buttons to have a strong mescaline trip on peyote and the site doesn't specify how many buttons comes with each planet...Just that its about (4-6 inches) and about 4 years old...
Also the San Pedro they're selling goes from 28 grams to 56 grams....
They refuse to help out how much is needed so I thought I would come here....So, would 2, 4 year old, 4-6 inch peyote cacti be enough?
How about this one? 7.5 inches...It seems like it would be substantial but I would prefer to get BLTC's opinion before I dish out 60 bucks

Re: Peyote V. San Pedro
Sorry that I can't specifically answer your question, but try looking on erowid. I'm sure they have a shit-ton of info on cacti, and different varieties and shit like that. Might possibly even be able to look it up on wikipedia.

Re: Peyote V. San Pedro
I think overall peyote has more mescaline on average than san pedro, but really it comes down to plant to plant and how they're grown.

Re: Peyote V. San Pedro
50 grams of dry is pretty common dose for a good trip
have another 50 grams capped and ready to go if you dont feel anything after about an hour - 1 1/2
if you're using fresh material you'll want to eat/fix about 10 or 12"
