BLTC & Tobacco
So I don't ever see a whole lotta tobacco discussion on this board, I know technically topics about "legal smokeables" go in OI, but this is a little different.
Just wondering, do most people on bltc smoke cigarettes? It's a fun thing to do while under the influence of a select few drugs in my opinion (weed, shrooms, acid), and socially of course, but I don't know anyone else who uses tobacco alone as a moderate drug.
In my opinion, smoking alone brings out the full potential of tobacco. I usually find a nice place outside, usually some rocks on any trail in this large nature preserve very near my homestead, and just sit down to smoke and think. I don't know about you guys, but I still get a very nice high when I smoke, feels like a powerful adrenaline rush comparable to when one is surprised/scared, only...pleasant. This feeling peaks and diminishes quickly after I finish smoking, but it's a very nice feeling. And during these smoking sessions, if I take big hits very quickly, I honestly cannot stand up or I lose my balance completely. It leaves me in a state of giggly euphoria and bliss.
Anyway, does anyone else appreciate the psychoactive effects of nicotine?
By the way, I only smoke pipe tobacco out of a pipe or roll it into cigs, or American Spirits, the menthol variety occasionally :)

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I like smoking tobacco in general. I like smoking cigs but tend to switch to dip when it gets cold like right now.
I do it mostly because I'm bored or to increase a high like after smoking some pot
I can quit anytime I want ;)

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
i smoke cigarettes quite often. at first it was Marlboro reds cause i wanted to look hard.
latter i switched to camel filters for the flavor. i stuck with these for a good 7 years.
for the last two years i have been smoking drum rollies. for the price an flavor. you will find that almost every user also uses tobacco in some form.

I don't buy my own cigarettes for my own use, but when a few friends and i are hanging out, and they have cigarettes, i always gladly join. It's a fun social thing, plus the "high" is nice, a little too short though.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I recently picked up smoking cigarettes everyday again.
I wouldn't smoke cigarettes when stoned though because weed makes me more sensitive to nicotine and I'd just get really nauseous. But it hasn't been happening recently so I've been smoking them more often.
Cigarettes boost up pretty much every high though.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I hardly ever buy my own packs anymore, if they are offered to me I'll take one. I like to smoke them while high because of the nicotine buzz, or while I'm drunk. I usually only buy packs for when I'm going to be doing a bit of heavy drinking, I smoke like a fiend when I've been drinking, I can easily go through 2 packs in a 6 hour night.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Smoking a cig is always a good chaser to a bowl/blunt of fine weed. And they get smoked like they're candy when I'm drunk. Other than that, I smoke like 1 or 2 a day tops.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I love smoking... but I quit recently after a good 11 year run. I think I'm only going to miss them while drinking and oped out.
When I was younger, I loved that tingle I got from taking a hit. I don't miss it though. It was more of an oral fixation after it was all said and done.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Compared to other popular drugs tobacco seems to have one of the worst pleasant effects to potential health risks ratios. Still, it's really nice to sit back with a cigarette and a book, or have one with a cup of coffee after breakfast. Tobacco is good for complementing other things, like the effects of another drug or as a way to finish off an excellent meal or sexual experience.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I have a love/hate relationship with tobacco. The effects are enjoyable(though really short and not at all intense), and they do enhance other highs, but the health effects, the way they make my lungs feels I don't like. Also they are rather addictive, it's the one drug I will actually be willing to say I'm addicted to(though I can quit and resist it, it's not always easy), part of this is probably that I have an oral fixation but my brain craves the nicotine at times as well.

No, they're not.
I LOVE smoking cigs, there is nothing better than the morning cig. Or the cig before you go to bed, or after a meal, or after a joint, or on dids, or post-orgasm, or for you're stressed, or when you haven't had a cig for a day or 2 due to no money.

Damn straight it is!
Been puffin down the Luckies for about six months now and the rare times I snag a different pack for the hell of it (I don't have to pay for cigarettes), the others just don't satisfy me the way a Lucky does. Was real big on Marlboro 27s and then Camel Filters for a while when I was younger, though.
I don't smoke a hell of a lot these days- not that I ever did. Most was maybe half a pack a day, a full one if I was doing blow or blasting (chain smoking and soaked in crack-sweat....good times). Smoke maybe four, five a day now. I take Wellbutrin, though, so that might have an effect on decreasing the cravings a lot.
Dip Grizzly once in a while at work, too- usually moreso when I'm pissed off or stressing.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I never understand this! Am i missing something??
I smoke about 4 a day, but i have never got any "high." I have never felt any psychoactive effect ever from smoking a cigarette, yet i continue to smoke- quitting isn't even a problem, i quit for 2 weeks and didn't even think about it much. No ill health, mentally or physically.
More addictive than Heroin? Puh!
It is simply something i like to do, it aids the boredom of a long day- i receive no recreational benefit..
Totse, is this extremely unusual?
&&
Will someone please describe to me this brief state of euphoria that one is supposed to receive due to the Nicotine?
It is meant to be a weak dopamine and noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor isn't it- i'm guessing similar to an extremely mild
Coke buzz. Ritalin-esque, maybe?

my guess is your smokin some shit weak cigarettes like silk cut, infact check your box and tell me how much nicotine is in them, it should be about 0.8mg

I've smoked ever since i was around 13, and no- i have never felt this psychoactive feeling you describe.
My first Ciggie of the day sometimes makes me feel "light and tingly," but in a dysphoric, urghh type way. After my next cig, it is gone though. I don't get anything whatsoever out of them.
Arghh, i wish i could feel the way a smoker was meant to feel; even if it was just the 'w0nts! :(

I've been smoking cigarettes since I was 12. I went through a Marlboro Reds stage, a menthol stage, a cheap-non-menthol stage, and now I hand-roll my own with filter tips and Peter Stokkebye (blend #103) tobacco. Anything else tastes like crap to me now. I smoke between 10-20 cigarettes a day.

i smoke organic american spirit tobacco out of a waterpipe....healthy....*takes drag* *cough cough cough*
but serously, i miss smoking cigarettes. but i know it will catch up with me one day, so i try to keep it moderate. as for this high from nicotine, whenever i ingest enough to have really noticeable psychoactive effects i just get dizzy and nauseaous (spelling?). i told my older brother this and he said that we are both slightly allergic to nicotine. any truth to this?

Never tried ritalin, it's nothing like coke for me...It's almost like it numbs your mind and body, everythings "tingly" and warm and energetic, and slight euphoria/surreal feelings for a few minutes.
I always inhale pretty hard, 5-7 second drags every time i'd say.

Ah nono- i am no fool. :)
I have no idea why Tobacco doesn't produce these 'normal' psychoactive effects for me.
I want the slight euphoria and the general sense of well-being that rapidly diminishes within half an hour or so :(
Not some shitty dysphoric mindburn that lasts for a moment or two with my first cig of the day- and then all ensuing cigarettes producing no feelings whatsoever.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I handroll my own, and I use Bali Shag. Though sometimes I buy the odd pouch of Drum, I definitely prefer the moist excellence that is Bali. Now regular cigarettes generally taste like complete asshole to me. I can't even finish a Newport.
I started out smoking Marlboro Red 100s.
Moved to Camel Filters for a while.
Switched back and forth between Kools, Winstons, and Camel Menthols for a while.
Went to just moving between Kools and Winstons.
(Camel Turkish Jades used to be my go-to menthol, but they got discontinued I think)
Now I am where I am today.
I still love Lucky Strikes, and always will, but I couldn't list them in good conscience because for some reason they're so fucking hard to find where I live, that I never could smoke them steadily. I've had about four of my own packs of Luckies in my whole life. Also, filterless Pall Malls hold a special place in my heart, but we won't get into that now.
Also, cigarette smoking is excellent. Fuck all the haters who say one can't actually enjoy smoking. It's easily the most simultaneously relaxing, delicious, and badass-looking thing a person can do. There is no drug I have ever put in my body that cigarettes do not in some way enhance.
Also, fuck Newports.

Every smoker I have met loves Lucky Strikes.
I live in England and they're hard to find but becoming much more common. I would buy them more often but I just don't have the money to spend on straights as they are sooooo expensive and rolling tobacco is so much cheaper.
But yea, <3 Lucky Strikes.

Does anyone know if the rumor about Lucky Strikes being discontinued holds any weight to it? I think I remember someone talking about that in OI and never bothered to read much into it.
Also, any tips to avoid the tobacco-in-the-mouth aside from pinching the end of the cig or packing it tightly? That's about the only drawback I get with Luckies (and other NF) from time to time.

If Luckies are discontinued I'm going to quit smoking. I really hope it's not true.
As for the tobacco spillage, the most important thing is to pack them well and keep the tip as dry and intact as possible. I don't hold it in my mouth and I keep my lips as dry as possible. I've found that pinching the end makes it worse, you have to treat it delicately. You'll still get some little bits but it's the price you have to pay for smoking something this awesome.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Only the filtered Luckies are discontinued in America (Don't know about other countries.)
To the best of my knowledge unfiltered are here to stay.
Fact is the #1 cigarette brand has become a back shelf name and is rarely on the cigarette display. Nowhere near as many people are smoking LS, and most of those smoke the unfiltered, so it only made sense to discontinue the filtered ones. Can't keep all 10 people in the country who smoke them happy :p

I saw someone who at a glance appeared to be European (it was in an area that attracts tourists so I'm assuming) with a pack of filtered Luckies. I almost went over and offered to trade her one of my unfiltereds for a filter one to try it, but I was in a hurry. I always saw filters as kinda pointless anyway, if you're going to smoke you might as well get all the nicotine rather than filtering a big chunk of it out.

I admittedly will sometimes remove the filter from other brand cigarettes. Unfiltered cigs taste a whole lot better and will give you a rush that you haven't felt since the beginning.

I'm a light smoker, usually one or two cigs a day, and I always get a nice buzz from Luckies. Not the dizzy, tingling headrush followed by nausea I get after not smoking for a week or so, but definitely an enjoyable feeling. I bummed a Turkish Silver from my girlfriend the other day and I was pretty disappointed. Whoever invented filters was either a chick or a total faggot.

Or an enormous corporation that was desperately trying to make cigarettes seem "safer" after a lot of negative public criticism.
So, basically,
a total faggot

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I don't really understand the deal with cigarettes. Smoke 'em if you got 'em (and I do occasionally when I'm drinking or something), but personally I prefer a good bowl of pipe tobacco.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
I'll smoke a cig every once in a while but for day to day, copenhagen long cut is my choice. What I don't understand though is that copenhagen has more nicotine then almost all other dips, and I'm use to it. Cope doesen't even give me a buzz, and I put in huge dips, like a can a day. But when I smoke a cig, it makes me have a buzz like a mother fucker.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Picked up a pack of Camel Filters today, these must have a lower nicotine content than NAS menthols, which I've had for the past 3 or 4 packs. I was barely buzzing smoking one today. But I did notice it seemed to burn much much slower than NAS...which was kinda nice.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Am I the only one who can't handle a cig when I'm extremely high? I took a big drag of one after smoking 5 blunts and puked everywhere. Which is weird because I love cigs when I'm at a comfortable high.

Re: BLTC & Tobacco
Canadian Classics king size are my favourite. I can go anywhere from 4 cigs a day to a whole pack. And those who say they don't feel anything when they smoke, 10% of the world doesn't react to nicotine.

Smoke on a regular basis? If not, then that's probably why. Or you could've just swallowed the smoke.
