The end of an era...
You may remember that I previously posted a topic in here about splitting up with the ex....Well, it was two months ago that she told me she had got with someone else.
That two months I have tried to re-kindle a friendship with her, she was willing but she was selfish and screwed up. All she seemed to want to do was hurt me. She did it without even realising she did it. Anyhow, she always avoided confrontation... She wouldn't want me to bring issues up. This was very contradictory to how I seen problems; i.e. they're only solved by confronting, rather than avoiding, the issue.
Anyhow, we've had ups and downs... fell out, made up, fell out again, made up. However, she went out with her new boyfriend and some friends for someone's birthday. So, trying to be a friend I just text and said "How's your night going?". She didn't reply till the next morning... "Yes I had an amazing time! Just in bed with Josh at the minute lol hungover".
Was it really necessary to tell me that? Anyways, I wasn't too fussed she's done worse. But I was made to be aware of pictures of her from that night out... The way she smiled, the way she was acting on the pictures, how happy she was... she was never like that when she was with me. It made me realise it was all a lie... This was a horrible realisation.
So, I just blocked her out from communicating me... ignored her texts, blocked her MSN/facebook/etc... And she found out, through a friend of mine.
It's all ended in a dramatic crash. A friend of 5 years, a true best friend, and I didn't even have the care in me to say goodbye...
Though, I wonder why I'm even typing this. I doubt you all care that much, I guess I just needed to say it. It's physically making me sob to type it, but it needs to come out...
I just don't know what to do. Is love always this difficult? I mean, this girl is my first love.. I adored her, and would have done anything for her... Having chose him over me, she denied anything I ever gave her... She's made that choice, and surely she has to deal with the consequences, right?
Five years isn't all that much in the long run... but it's a lot of time to waste...

Re: The end of an era...
Tell her this? Just say its going to be a while before you can talk to her. Maybe it'll put your mind to rest.
In time and when you get over her, you can talk again.
P.S. Sorry you're in this pain. Hope it gets better with time.

Re: The end of an era...
My brother, things will get better. my advice is to speed your life up. Do as much as possible and don't give yourself anytime to even think about the ex. Just occupy yourself and let time do it's thing. If you don't occupy yourself it will be harder, longer, and more painful(learned the hard way).
Look at the bright side, you are single, you don't have no one to hold you down when you wanna get smashed or have a great time with friends(if you have any). AND you can hit on chicks and not be a womanizer.

Re: The end of an era...
I had something like this happen with a girl I pined after for five years. I lost my virginity to her, I (metaphorically) stabbed my best friend in the back for her, but it never really materialised. We went to uni in the same year and when we went back home for christmas she asked to meet up with me. I stood her up and haven't spoken to her since. I didn't say goodbye.
I don't really have any advice. I think if I had carried on talking to her, I would probably still feel bad (I dream about her sometimes, occasionally when I'm talking to my girlfriend I get flashbacks of her). Maybe if it's never going to end in a fairytale marriage, you should quit her. Or maybe I should have carried on talking to her and eventually we'd have a fairytale marriage. I dunno.
As I've been saying quite a lot recently, it's all a bit shit, isn't it?

Just remember that women are heartless and can throw you away without a second thought. That's life. It sucks right now, but it'll get better soon enough.

Re: The end of an era...
I was reading that, and it sounded just like the situation I recently got over. First person I ever loved, blah blah blah. I really feel for you on this man. I never understood why women have to tell us things they KNOW will hurt us.
Luckily you will move on, and find someone who isn't such a bitch, who is happy with you and you with them. Good luck.

Re: The end of an era...
Women tell us things that they know will hurt us because they feel bad about themselves and they just want us to feel the same way.

Re: The end of an era...
Well, I think I took the worst route of action... I emailed her earlier to basically properly say goodbye, and why it's come to this... I probably shouldn't have but, I did.
I guess I need the closure, if even for token reasons. I would post it, but it's definitely tl;dr.
And with regards to some of you're comments... I have friends who care about me far more than I give credit for.... I'm hardly unattractive (She wasn't the best looking girl in the world.. but I just loved her, that was that).... It's certain I will find someone else...
I think I just needed an outlet. Thanks guys.

Re: The end of an era...
Dude, email all that to her. And then say goodbye at the end. Not too hard, is it.
