Default Salvia Trips

Hey guys, I've tried salvia a couple of times recently (kinda hoping it would be psychedelic). And I'm finding that it's not the trips themselves that are unpleasurable, it's more the 10 mins after the trip when my mind is trying to return to the normal dimension... I find it really disturbing and painful.

What does everyone else think about this? Is it the same for you, or is the whole trip bad. Or, do you like smoking salvia?

To me, smoking salvia is always just different...

I don't look forward to tripping off of it usually, but it's always pretty interesting... hard to believe how far out your mind can go.

I know the after feeling you're talking about, it always seems like something is just wrong... not high, not tripping, but it's very difficult to get back down to reality.

Yeah I know that feeling. It's like somethings not right and you feel uncomfortable. It's never been so bad to where I wouldn't do it again though.

It brought up some common fears of being held against my will or being tortured and made me face them, but it made the aggressors garden gnomes or aliens. I found it quite odd and painful.

I've only had positive experiences on salvia, find a nice quiet spot, meditate a little, clear your mind, light up, and let the exploration begin.

My last salvia trip, it showed me this void of horrible vast loneliness, and unworldly inferiority. Then while i was comming out of the peak, My body felt like I was in a snowstorm and wrapped in a blanket of razor sharp needles. That trip kinda fucked me up for a week or so. Very unpleasant.

My Salvia trips are almost always unpleasant in the first few moments inside the delirium, until you can control and recognize the fact that it is a drug and is controlling the way you think.

Salvia seemed to scare me more towards the end of my using it, and I'm not really to sure why - my brain got weaker and less motivated to fight off the negative effects of psychedelics [the fear].

Not many people I know find this drug pleasurable, but if you've got your head pretty fuckin' well screwed on your shoulders you could be able to turn hell into heaven.

Good luck though.

I think it's different with every psychedelic. I don't think you necessarily have to have your head screwed on tight to have a good trip. When I first started doing acid I was pretty depressed and mentally unstable and I certainly had bad trips because of it but I've also had incredibly wonderful experiences while tripping with a mentally unstable mind. For me, with salvia, it seems that the more demented my mind is at the time the better the trip is. It makes everything so tangible and real and you can physically feel reality pressing in on you.

Salvia is different for me every single time I use it and everything I get out of it seems to be very unexpected and random which I really like because I feel like it really delves deep into the sub-conscience and brings out the things in us we usually don't confront which in the end helps us to look at ourselves and reality from a new perspective.

One last thing; does anybody else get a very weird feeling in their skin when they smoke salvia? Like it's really sensitive or something. Hard to explain.

It definitely helps however to have a positive attitude when using psychedelics, without a doubt. I've had good trips when I'm down and up, and bad trips when I'm up and down. However, I certainly recommend going into the trip positive and joyful, atleast!

And I tend to get not really a sensitive feeling, but more the feelings of pin-pricks in my skin whenever I used to smoke Salvia.

My last Salvia trip set in a few minutes after I smoked it. I just suddenly collapsed and then the world before me became a mosaic or stained glass image or something and all the pieces just exploded outwards and I started cruising through a kaleidoscopic world and various areas brought with them various physical sensations and emotions. Some emotions were happiness and relaxation because of an epiphany that the world as I knew it was a lie and all in my head and I am just an atom and all atoms are endowed with a sense of purpose to allow them to bare their existence but in truth, my function as an atom, was extremely simple. So simple that I didn't even KNOW it, I was already performing it... then came the bad part. I then started coming down and the kaleidoscope vision would disappear suddenly leaving me to see myself on the floor staring dumbly around my room, then it would return and seeing it brought physical pain and sadness. I then became disgusted with the world and with myself and I realized that humans are just another variety of stupid, disgusting animals and it also became apparent to me just how infantile I am.

Anyway, that's Salvia for you. It's not enjoyable. If anything, despite its delusions it brings one uncomfortably CLOSE to reality.

I know what you mean with the skin thing. I remember saying after my last trip... it makes all the intangible things like thoughts, emotions, feelings become more real and they take form in my mind. The main problem is that when it hits you, it's like you;ve just woken up from a deep sleep, into this trip, and it's all you know that exists, that's one of the things that makes it so scary.

Every time I smoke salvia my life takes a different direction and I feel like a different person. The funniest/scariest thing ever though was hitting it out of a bong. My cousin hit it first and I was literally about to call 911 because his eyes were rolling in the back of his head, he was sweating profusely, and he was drooling everywhere. He couldn't walk or talk for like 10 minutes. When it was over he wouldn't talk and he just like walked out. It was hilarious, but I thought he was going to die.

Iremembered what it felt like when I pushed 3 point plug into my leg, ahhh.
Others have described it as 'Like rolling around on a floor covered with Lego bricks'
Thats better then my description.
The first feeling is the walls bulging & when they touch me I go into the other dimension.
The 'Gravity shift'.
'Rebirth' Being forced thru a hole head first.

The first time i did salvia, it was with 4 of my friends, and they turned into cliffs on either side of me, and everything went really quiet, and i was concentrating on one single tree in the valley between my friends.

After that, i never smoked salvia alone, i always put it in spliffs. Which really helped with the 'coming back to reality' thing. Because i was high and didn't have to come back to reality completely, so it was easier to comprehend the trip. Once i was talking to a pair of trees for a few minutes, stopped tripping, and was able to realise why i'd been talking to trees without it feeling wierd.

I don't get this skin thing. But the last time i smoked salvia alone, my ears felt like they were caving in and i couldn't hear much.

I don't usually get so giggly unless people are talking to me. If someone tries to talk to me then I just think everything's hilarious. But if it's quiet I just look and feel so unworldly. So new and magic.

Try salvia in the woods sometime. I guarantee satisfaction.

Definitely a great idea, just do it in a small grove of trees, or else make sure you have a sitter. Doing psychedelics alone in a strange forest is the sort of shit that could get you lost for days, even if the drug only lasts 20 minutes.

First experience me and 4 friends tried it after school one day.My friend hit the pipe, then said "it feels like theres a drill going into my cheek..".Then without warning he tore his shirt off and took off running through a screened back door.I hit it and all of my friends turned into characters from 'toy story' most notably woody and buzz or whatever. Then i laughed uncontrollably for what seemed forever, while i rolled around the floor and screaming "get the dog hair off me!".

Second time i smoked it alone in my room at night while in bed, with music on.Blew out the smoke and my bed started eating me;the pillows were arms and the bed was caving in and i started freaking out. While trying to fight off this evil monster the music somehow turned into Bob Barker from The Price is Right, and seemed like he was telling me directly "you are dying and you have really fucked up now".A few minutes i came too in my bed covered in slobber and spit.

After that i havent smoked it anymore :)
