I love my pipe and wouldnt consider it a waste, not as expensive as a bong depending on what you choose and are very useful for one the move. I just stick my pipe and grinder in my pocket and can load one nice and easy. more obvious than a joint if your walking down a busy street though.

If you're going to a party or out of town then glass pipes get the job done, especially if you can't roll.
