5HTP, MDMA and seratonin syndrome.
It is considered harm reduction to take 5HTP (an amino acid precurser to seratonin) before and after rolling on ecstasy. The theory is that MDMA depletes seratonin and 5HTP will replenish it.
Combining large amounts of ecstasy and SSRIs will lead to seratonin syndrome. The bottle of 5HTP I possess says to not combine with SSRIs.
Doesn't this naturally imply that combining 5HTP and MDMA will produce at best damage to seratonin receptora and at worst seratonin syndrome?

Re: 5HTP, MDMA and seratonin syndrome.
SSRI's only prevent axon death, not serotonin syndrome. 5htp should be used after a roll (about 9 hours) to ease the comedown.
Some findings suggest grapefruit juice contains an enzyme inhibitor that can reduce toxic metabolites and improve the high. However, there has not been enough research to prove this.
