How much is an ounce? As in, is it a considerable amount that could last you a while?

I heard that it was decriminalized in Massachusetts and that you could have up to one ounce without criminal action, and I am curious to know if pot smokers consider it to be a large amount.

A friend said that it could easily be split between 10 people, but he doesn't know much either.

An ounce will last you a few hours then the dope sick sets in...........

My last ounce lasted me a little over a week, but I was smoking quite a bit. Usually 2-3 weeks is good.

An ounce is 28g, so you could really divide it up amongst 28 people and everybody would be able to get nicely ripped.

Yea say you smoke a gram a day, that's about 2 joints or 4 [fresh] bong hits (probably about 6 or 7 including reburns), so it'd last you about a month by yourself.

Include friends/tolerance into that and about 2 weeks.

My friend gets an ounce when he goes to his beach house every summer for a month. It lasts him all month, and he smokes like 3 times a day.

Even though you're a nonsmoker, I'm sure one of your friends has shown you atleast a ten sack in your lifetime.
Imagine that bag, but imagine just under 30 times more.
The duration depends on things like how many people, age, weight, tolerance, and how often you smoke daily.
Each smoker smokes a different amount of different kinds.
But yes, to answer your question an ounce is a lot to be just strolling around with.

That would completely depend on what a "10 sack" is to you. if a ten sack is a gram for you then yes 1 gramX30=a little more than an ounce 30grams(ounce is 28). but if a 10 sack is 3.5 grams then that would be alot more than a ounce.

And a ten bag in England is 1.7g, so try dividing 28 by 1.7 then multiplying 1.7g worth of weed by that number, and it all gets confusing.

Not to mention the size varies a lot depending on how dry it is, how well cured it is, how dense it is etc etc.

It all depends on the quality of the product.

If you're getting an ounce of schwagg, it will likely last you a lesser amount of time due to the fact that it takes more to get you high.


An ounce of high-quality Blueberry is completely different than an ounce of low quality Mexican-brick...

An ounce of high quality could last me, if it were only me smoking it, well over a month...

an ounce is a good deal of weed, plenty for a decent amount of personal use.....

it would last most people a couple weeks to a month....

but hell ive gone through 7 grams of mids in a day with a friend.... so if i really tried i could probably smoke an ounce in a week to myself... but that would be just waking up, smoking, coming down a bit, smoking again... rinse and repeat until i eventually go to sleep....

an ounce of headies would last me a good bit longer.... and granted since its been more than 6 weeks since i have smoked my tolerance is nothing so it would last me even longer than when i could smoke ungodly amounts....

depends on how good

if it's some good then very long, probably upwards of 2 months for me

if it's not so good, maybe 3 weeks to a month

if it's terrible, probably 1-2 weeks in that i would be blowing 2 blunts just to feel it.

Its 28 grams, thats a moderately large ammount.

ounce is good stuff I always make sure I have around a ounce of weed smoke as much as you want I don't know wtf dope sick is never herd of it I can smoke till my eyes bleed me and my friend have done ounce before

Really all depends how much you smoke a day, if you a light weight that will last you like a month, if you a heavy smoker that'll last you like a week if that.

I was just trying to figure out if the law was too harsh or too soft when it comes to amount.

Decriminalization of an ounce or less is a very fair law, in my opinion. I live in Madison, WI, and it's the only city in the state where they have done (basically) the same thing. It's cool. If you're not selling weed, you don't really need to have more than an ounce anyway, unless you're throwing a big smoking party or something.
