Re: Go to first new post What body type do girls prefer?
middle of the road. I saw a few studies done a while back that had girls rank their preferences for body types; They established that obese was the lowest desired, heavily muscled (think arnold) and skinnier were in the low-middle range and the most desired were the ones who werent overly muscled, nor were they overly skinny. Lightly muscled won.
Course every girl is different and this is just a generality; but take it for what its worth.

Re: Go to first new post What body type do girls prefer?
Personally, I think the most attractive male body type is one that is strong, muscular and capable. I don't care for totally cut abs, huge biceps, the typical bodybuilder look that guys seem to think girls want. Nor do I favor very skinny guys, or very fat ones. I think a guy looks best when he's got some muscle, but also a bit of body fat, the kind of 'I'm an average, healthy guy, not an obese couch potato or a narcissistic gym rat" body.

^That seems to correspond with the study's results: "the most desired were the ones who werent overly muscled, nor were they overly skinny. Lightly muscled won."
Can't say this is too surprising.

Oh bullshit. Arnold got laid like a fucking rock star back in the day.
Although to be fair that was in Austria - the study is probably American women. Goodness knows that in eastern europe proper chicks overtly dig big guys.
Also - what women say they want and what they want are totally different things.

Yes lightly muscled :) Thin or slightly overweight are fine. Tiny scrawny, obese or huge muscles are all equally gross to me.

Re: Go to first new post What body type do girls prefer?
this.
Trends for desired body types among males change just as much as females.
In the 80s the body-builder type might have been more popular, just like pamela anderson was the ideal female build. 20+ years later and a more average guy with toned arms appeals more to women than a WWE contender.

arent u being a little closed minded there Silverfuck? Not all people who choose to keep by fit by training with heavy weights are narcissistic or indeed gym rats.
So according to you, i have "traits of excessive self-love, based on self-image or ego."? (from Wiki)
You couldnt be further from the truth.
Dont be so closed minded. Its fine if a guy with muscles doesnt do it for you, you're cetainly not alone in thinking that !!.... but please dont lump allsorts of stereotypical shit with it.

It was meant to be more of a generalization than an opinion on all people who body build. Sorry if it offended you; I hold no judgement against people who are into working out and getting cut and all that, that's just not the kind of body I'm attracted to, or the kind of person I can relate to.

Im with LSD on this one.
"Recommendations published in 2003 and 2004 suggest that 45 to 60 minutes per day is necessary to prevent weight gain."
http://adam.about.com/reports/000029_6.htm
I dont even go to the gym every day.
Staying fit is different from narcissistic gym rat. There also exists a difference between those looking to stay fit, and those, as you describe, trying to get "cut".
I think you're just jealous, fatty.

hey np, it didnt really offend me... if things like that did then i wouldnt last long here at totse :D
i dont think all girls with big tits and blonde hair are dumb, i dont think all muslims are terrorists, etc etc, and all gym goers are not self obsessed.
think about it for a minute.... what might drive somebody to workout like a bastard, have an abnormal diet, take steroids.... insecurity is what drives me to do those things. and even though my body has changed alot im still pretty insecure about myself.
those who do really love themselves are often in pretty shit shape because they already think they are gods gift so they dont bother working out, eating right etc.
BlackSails is a fucking idiot though still waiting for an explanation of his comment.

Haha, I'm definately far from fat. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about staying fit. There's absolutely a difference between taking care of yourself and maintaining your body for health, and for doing it for appearances, and although I totally respect the people who are doing it to get a bodybuilder-magazine body, that's definately not the type of body I think is attractive, and it's not really a lifestyle I can relate to either.
You guys really shouldn't get all butthurt because I'm not attracted to really muscular guys. It's not a personal attack or something...

Ive always went for the bigger build. Not fat, but just over 6 ft and 200 lbs. I dont like guys who are skinny, but dudes who wear pants and they look pregnant is way WRONG! ... I like my guys with some meat. Not into the built/steriod looking ones or ones who look like they just ate the KFC out of business

Geez Louise... This is what's annoying about you. It was a joke, but now I see that it needn't be. You really are uptight and defensive :/
I've been working out a long time myself, all because of insecurities as well, a fear of girls not liking me. I don't mind people laughing at my protein shakes/bars and ridiculous diet, I laugh along, no need to explain why exactly I'm need my shakes.

But lets be honest, if you can relate to a guy on a above average level and he is good funny, but he is so cut he needs a bandaid. You will be even more ATTRACTED to him than the joe shmoe over there who is average but knows every word to your favorite song.

totally agree with that, in my experience ive found that females prefer slightly muscled toned males sorta like brad pitt in fight club or whatever it was. i've often been told that and ive no problem with that. i deffo had more luck with women when i was smaller/lighter than what i am now. but i dont train/diet/take drugs to get women, i do it because i feel a constant need to improve myself..... if i did it to 'score' i would have stopped at the development i got to in mid 2003.
silverfuck just to clarify, im not disputing your preference for a body type, just your stereotypical comment.
blacksails ok sorry dude i just took it you found insecure people annoying .
ive often found people who make comments about my physical development are often 2 faced and have double standards; that is you sometimes get a bunch of lads who may mutter something like roid head or whatever...never to your face mind..... then a few weeks later you'll see the same group of lads down the gym buying gear bustin a nut working out lol!!!
difference between me and them is that ive trained for 15 years and dieted.

Re: Go to first new post What body type do girls prefer?
We need to agree on what 'lightly muscled' is as I'm sure we all have differing opinions.
Would I be wrong in saying (forgive me, I only used google image):
http://tinyurl.com/58a68y - body builder
http://tinyurl.com/5ogl5s - quite muscly
http://tinyurl.com/2prpo3 - lightly muscled
Is that about right?
Could a female maybe give a few examples because I think you'd have a better idea.

You know how many guys now a days in no way shape or form match even the 1st 2 on those pics? 3 words. Fast food and lazyness...FTL.
I about fit the pic in the middle there and its really easy ridin' .....if you dont believe me add some muscles to your frame then let me know how the girls react towards you...like a fucking goof they will be.
Girls well deny this and that on here but the truth shows out in public(not online). Remember you have less than .000002 female population speaking on this fourm...dont take their opinions across the board.

Re: Go to first new post What body type do girls prefer?
Ok I guess lightly muscled is different for me. I don't care for any of those three. Maybe I'm the oddball. I prefer natural but healthy looking like:
http://i35.tinypic.com/212v96x.jpg
http://i34.tinypic.com/iemsm9.jpg
and this last one is probably pushing the limits of how much muscle i like
http://i37.tinypic.com/3584ghv.jpg
honestly though face and personality are far more important to me personally.

I (female) like the "average dude" body type. If he has muscles cool, if not, who cares? As long as he isn't a couch slob I'm cool with that.
I like someone who has the Shia Labeouf body, or the Paul Rudd body. Maybe even a Seth Rogen. But not someone morbidly obese, you know?

Heyyy I look like this :)
I'm going to get more muscley though as soon as my new weights come.
Guys, you also have to realize, that the girls who say they just want the average look (lightly muscled) are the average looking girls. If you want to get a more attractive woman, you can do it, but it is easier if you are a little more bulky.
