There's no easy way to do it. If you respect her do it in a remotely civil way. If you respect yourself do it in a civil way. Don't listen to retards who tell you to just call up say it and hang up. They are retards.

If you've been in the relationship for five years, she deserves some closure, so if you want to do it over the phone, fine. Just make sure she knows why, be understanding and listen to what she has to say. Stick to your guns though. Chances are she feels a similar way, long distance relationships are hard. Explain why you feel the way you do. That's the only advice I can really offer.
