Methylphenidate and Sports?
Would it help at all in giving me more energy or would it give me a heart attack? I have 2 hours of kickboxing tonight and I am not looking forward to it.

Re: Methylphenidate and Sports?
yes it would help, and no it wont give you a heart attack unless you already have a predisposition to heart attacks such as heart disease.

Re: Methylphenidate and Sports?
Back in high school I got hold of some ritalin, thinking this'll be great it's chemically similar to cocaine this'll be great, but only the first 15-20 minutes are worth anything, after that i felt all strung out and fatigued and if i snorted more i felt worse (nothing like cocaine, it felt really dirty in comparrason). Seriously though stimulants are not good for intense exercise like kickboxing, it takes you waaay longer to recover from it because you push yourself alot harder and you can become overstimulated, putting too much stress on your body. Even sitting still on high doses of amps in hot weather is like running a marathon. Maybe take a low dose of opiate or something if ur all sore. Otherwise if u don't like kickboxing don't do it. Although it sounds like you're lacking energy, in which case too many drugs may be the problem? Forgetting to drink your fresh vegetable juice while on drugs can lead to malnourishment:P To summarise, methylphenidate sucks, although it doesn't last as long as dextroamphetamine, so the comedown/burnt out feeling only last for 1 day instead of 3, depending on dose, i admit 10 or 15 mg is great for study, but anything over 40-50mg starts becoming way too much. Your heart rate a blood pressure go way up. Maybe some people feel great on mid doses, but it never lasted long enough for me, and if if i didn't have a benzo for the comedown it sucked (as bad although not a drawn out as an oral meth comedown). Good luck

Re: Methylphenidate and Sports?
Thanks for the advice. It's not that I don't like it, it's that tonight is going to be fairly intense because I have a fight on the weekend. I guess I'll just save the ritalin for homework :D.
