Problem
Hi.
At work there's this guy I like. Today I (finally) had a shift alone with him, and I was really happy because I got to talk to him and get to know him better. However, it didn't go smoothly as I thought. This other girl who also worked there, came into work, and helped out. When I asked her she said that she just liked to help out around the coffee shop even when she was not scheduled to work and apparently she does this a lot.
Problem is, I think she likes him too. The whole time she was monopolizing his time talking to him, and she was playing with her hair in a really flirtatious kind of way, you know when a girl is trying to show interest in a guy she will twirl her hair? And her body language too it made me feel that she was trying to seduce him or something.
So, I don't know what to do. I was mad because she fucked up my chance to be alone with the guy. Should I tell the boss that she's not being fair to the rest of the workers, because by volunteering she's in effect taking potential hours from the rest of the staff? Do you think the boss will give a shit? We are not unionized. Besides, I don't want this girl to hate me. Or should I try to join in the conversation as to steer it to a direction I want? I know he's into politics just like I am. The whole time she was talking to him and making me do stuff (she has more seniority than me).
I don't know what to do, I don't want this girl coming in to work and chat with him. I really really really like this guy, I don't want him to get away.

Re: Problem
ask the girl if she is interested in him.
if she says yes: try harder than she is.
if she says no: tell the guy what is up.
i know i would like it if a girl was straight forward about it. i hate the bull shit that comes with trying to figure out what a girl wants.

Re: Problem
Unlucky. There's not a whole lot you can actually do, and it's pretty much down to they guy's choice, right? But he has to be aware of your interest as well as hers, otherwise he'll choose her over you for sure. If he's available that is. Just keep trying. If she's that much senior to you I would've thought she'd be dead but whatever.

Re: Problem
Ask him to visit the storeroom/walk-in closet with you.
Show him all your best moves.

Re: Problem
just because she likes him doesn't mean he feels the same way. she may be smothering him, he could just see her as a friend
don't go to the boss
bad idea
just i dunno. don't get phased and desperate because that is really unattractive.
