While this IS about the chick in my previous thread, it's from a different perspective.... i.e. me failing.

I told her how I feel a few days ago. Today we met up and she told me she just wanted to be friends.

So to bring yall up to speed.
She comes over (with the intention of spending the night), we go to a party, she gets drunk, comes back to my place for the night and then stays for the three nights at my apartment. Aside from this, the entire time we're together, she's giving what I believed to be hints as to her interest. She's throwing her legs into my lap at every chance we get. Asked me to sleep in the bed with her once. I'd catch her looking in my direction often when we're sitting watching tv.... only to have her say "nothing" in response to my "what's up". All in all, totse, I think I failed to get her because I never boldly took a chance with her. In my mind, friends don't pull that shit and not have interest. Then again, perhaps I simply lacked the nec experience to make the call. All in all, I'm a bit let down, you know? I rarely find a girl that I really like.
Kinda feeling like a loser now.

When you men and women of totse find attractive mates, do you let yourself fall for them and become drunk with hope, or do you kinda take it easy just so that you don't get to badly burned upon failing?

My last relationship was something like this ( I was of the former camp of drunks). Maybe it's time I just started dating around loosely and stop looking for my perfect lady?

Nearly the same thing happened to me, but I was making moves and everything seemed to be going well. But then all of the sudden she can't get over her ex and is trying to get back with him.

I've come to the conclusion she was just using me to help her through a rough patch with her ex, but the situation is way too complicated and fucked up for me to really know.
