| Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Chemistry intro
anyone know of any textbooks or ebooks or anything that would give me a good introduction to drug chemistry? like LSD, MDMA, i'm not really interested in methamphetamines but would learn about them cuz the info might help me understand other things.

Re: Chemistry intro
Well don't start looking for stuff on synthesizing drugs.
You need to go to school and lay some groundwork.

Re: Chemistry intro
Pihkal/Tihkal has synthesis for many chemicals. To actually learn how to do the synths, though, you'll need to load up on chemistry textbooks.

You need to go to school and lay some groundwork.thats what i'm looking for, just a good base so i can understand basic drug synthesis. i don't mind spending 3-4 months studying. or even 6-year if that's what it takes, i'm a jack-of-all-trades and i learn quick so i would really like to learn about it to broaden my horizen further. sorry for all the cheese in this post but i couldn't think of better words.

Re: Chemistry intro
If you're interested in synthing, then that is organic chemistry...Doing a quick google search for that would probably land you at least a few text documents on the introduction to organic chem. It is way easier to learn this from someone who has experience (a teacher)...can get pretty complex with no prior knowledge...but if your up to it have at it.

Re: Chemistry intro
Get groundwork in chemistry, biochemistry, cellular biology and human anatomy. If you're anything like me, that's a fucking daunting task without some kind of teacher. Then move onto pharmacology, learn about the different systems, learn how they work, learn where things go. This will take a couple of years and a fair bit of work.
...then you're ready to learn about "drug chemistry"

Im doing biochemistry masters and its fucking hard.(but fun) You have to know alot about labratory technique
