Potential For Brain Damage?
I've been hearing that taking recreational dosages of vicodin, even once or twice, can cause brain damage.
Is this true?
I took 5 5/500's over the course of an hour last weekend.
I was planning on taking 6 5/500's at once this weekend, but now I'm a little freaked out.
So what, if any, physical or neurological damage can be caused by recreational dosages at the 25-30mg level?
Last weekend was my first time with any type of drug, so it's not like I have a tolerance.

Re: Potential For Brain Damage?
If that was true I'd be completely brain-dead. Opioids are not neurotoxic and they are fairly easy on the body. The acetaminophen is the part that will damage your liver. Whoever told you this is an idiot, or they mixed up their brain and their liver.
How have you "been hearing" this, as if you've heard it in more than one place? It sounds like something some jackass officer or teacher would tell you, or some 13 year old kid who can't keep their drugs straight.

Most everything you hear about drugs at school is bullshit. That goes equally for the authority figures and your dumbass drug-using peers.
QUESTION EVERYTHING.

They totally had you believing it
Just another example of how people/kids blindly follow authority
The Tylenol in the pills will do you more harm than the 25-30massive milligrams of hydrocodone

Re: Potential For Brain Damage?
living kills brain cells....
your using drugs, with the exception of certain drugs your not going to get much smarter using them.... Its just one of those things you have to accept if you want to get into the lifestyle....
but no, your liver is going to be hit harder than the brain in your case.... 3g of APAP is fairly safe but dont make a habit of it, a CWE will get rid of alot of the APAP and make it much less damaging to the renal system....
and lol about red ribbon week... i signed up for the "i pledge not to do drugs" just to get the free glow in the dark dogtag thing.... and because its ironic.... i think more druggy kids signed up to be drug free than anyone else....

I was asking about vicodin, which means the stuff IN the vicodin, which includes the Tylenol.
What harm will the Tylenol do?

Re: Potential For Brain Damage?
As far as i know, opiates don't really damage anything once their in. It's getting in that does the harm. Plus, do a CWE on those fuckers. That much APAP isn't too good for you.

Well hey, lets give them credit on getting the "smoking causes cancer" thing right at least. I wouldn't suggest listening to those people in the future though. Red ribbon week? What the fuck? I haven't had an anti-drug speech since deep down in the 90's when I was a little squirt.

Are you kidding me. Goto google. Type in "opiate neurotoxcity."
And the answer is no.
Opiates/oids do slow reaction time of the brain while under the influence of them but they do not damage it. They do down regulate the mu opioid receptors in the brain when used daily longterm. After one time it wont do anything except replace your bodies natural endorphins while your under the influence of them.
thanks
