Should I give my ex her bday present?
My ex of about three yrs and I broke up about a month and a half ago, but about a week after the break up, we started trying to work things out. Things got somewhat better but we werent focusing on us...we then started to just do the same things to each other again, but we were still trying.
Along came her bday. I bought her the ring that she wanted (it was expensive, so I took it back) and I bought her a season of her fav tv show. Well, also on her bday, she lied to me about who she hung out with. I am almost positive it was her girl friend that she knows I dislike, and I think she lied to me so we wouldnt fight about it, but again I am not 100% sure. We havent had contact for about 4 days now.
I wrote her a letter, saying how I am hurt that she lied, and that I would like to know who she was really hanging out with on her bday, because I deserve to know the truth. Should I give her the half of her bday present and my letter, or should I forget everything?

Re: Should I give my ex her bday present?
Why did you break up?
It depends how you want to approach it. If you honestly want to move on and progress, and keep a friendship, just give her the present and say you'd like to continue having a friendship but realise you can't work in a relationship -- it's just not going to be.
If you hate her, don't give her a present and back off a little.
If it was expensive take it back and get something cheaper. You'll only get irked if things fall apart more and you've spent a silly amount on a gift for her.

Re: Should I give my ex her bday present?
You should both give her your present, I mean you might as well if you were going out for three years and most importantly stop being a little bitch about what girlfriends she happens to be kicking it with on her birthday. Unless her friend is truly a manipulative, evil, succubus that is hellbent on ruining your relationship with her, it's just none of your business.
In fact, what you should do is send me the present and instead give your girlfriend the loving present of you no longer being a clingy, needful, cunt.
Your welcome.

Re: Should I give my ex her bday present?
We broke up because of stupid shit (ie she thinks that I dont really like her, she says that I never want to see her).
The thing about her friend is kind of unknown...I am somewhat afraid of her friend replacing me. I have never told my ex this, but this is how I feel. She wanted to move in with this friend, and I pretty much felt like it would destroy our relationship.

You appear to be far too stupid to help him.
All other factor aside -we're not discussing your previous relationship, per se- given the circumstances I'd give her a persent (not expensive like I have suggested) and be done with it. explain how you'd like to remain close friends and see how things unfold.
Everyone needs time to grow and experiences to develop.

Thank you ohw brainy one for being able to tell my lvl of intelligence from one post. Doesn't help in thinking very highly of yours. And i never said my post was gonna be any help to the guy.
And he doesn't need help. He should just do what he feels right, specially since we're not in his position and a such are not able to see all factors involved and as such can never give proper advice.
He didn't even tell what hopes for the future if it comes to this girl. Does he want te get back with her, stay friends, get laid ....

Re: Should I give my ex her bday present?
Short answer is no. Giving a gift to an ex is an incredibly weak thing to do.

You type a story in dutch that i can understand and that makes sence to you too, i'll agree. If you then do it in french and german too, or any 2 other languages besides dutch and english will do, and i'll start thinking of you as someone who might just reach my lvl of intelligence
(course, this is unrealistic, but so is assuming people all over the internet learned english to a far going extent in school)
At this point i'm just thinking retarded native english speaker....
that, and i could make proper sentences without spelling mistakes, but i simply don't care enough
