Default What can you tell me about the psychoactive properties of Apiole?

Apparently this shit is psychedelic...and found in seed oils of dill and celery

The uncanny structural resemblance to Myristicin is undeniable....so i'm looking your way... sexy filing cabinet of a brain.... JoePedo.

I also notice discrepancies in the bond position of the O-CH3 on the main carbon ring.... what does this mean regarding its activity...

HALP!

Psychotropic Phenylisopropylamines (amphetamines) posses ring-substitution patterns identical to those of natural essential oils.

There are two additional essential oils known that contain the methylenedioxy ring. These are apiole and dillapiole. the two naturally occurring aromatic ethers are the two possible ring-methoxylated analogues of myristicin.

DMMDA was synthesized directly from apiole (obtained from oil of parsley)

Hope that helps

wikipedia says apiol is mainly notable for its abortifacient properties.

it also says it's hepatoxic in higher doses.

no mention of any psychedelic effects, i had to dig deep in google to find anything.

there is no source cited... and anything can be hepatoxic at large doses.... Hell even the relatively very safe APAP is hepatoxic.... so it all depends

If it can be safely used at a low dose.... to abort shit.... perhaps with an MAOI (i think) i could eat a pound of dill seeds....:p

From what I have been reading , it is not a good or stable chemical to ingest whatsoever. I would recommend just getting some acid or DMT if you wish , but if your tryin to trip the consequences seem quite steep.

Hes just trying to pioneer a new drug discovery! Give him a break :D I found this info interesting, though....'specially about the essential oils, because they are known to have some effect on mood, etc when inhaled. Such as lavender calming you down or the aroma of coffee beans, etc. EEK!

If you are interested in psychedelic amphetamines I would recommend some of the DO* amphetamines. Even though little is known about them, I would say they are a hell of a lot safer than some obscure compound in dill seeds. So what if it happens to be safe in small doses but when you eat a ton you just keel over? Like apple seeds... mmhmmm dont get high on vitamins kids.

It is my belief that this topic deserves a bit more attention then it has gotten. It is understandable that due to the lack of common interests here(not a marijuana based thread:p) that this thread will continue to get buried under the incesant influx of less then interesting threads here in BLTC.

Would a mod please move this thread to Lab-Tips as i feel that i am more likely to get pointed in the right direction there.

Thanks
