lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
or so i think, i feel i have a mild case of dpd after ingesting LSD around a year ago, the feeling of observing oneself though life and constant nagging and psychoanalysis i have of myself make me feel as if im watching myself in a game, this makes it hard to connect with people, but i am trying to improve that and i think im succeeding. anyone else got this kind of feeling.
anyone got any methods of reducing dpd symptoms
move to headshrinkers if more appropriate

You dont magically develop a personality disorder with 1 trip of lsd, something like that takes years of abuse to even manifest itself.
Your just new to lsd. That's all it is.

then why can i pinpoint it to a few weeks between sept and oct last year when i smoked a lot of weed, drank lots of cough syrup and took lsd a few times. im probably predisposed to dpd. before that i dnt remember having any of these feelings. or perhap the psycs made me think about things too much and i started thinking these thoughts, then the more i thought them the more obsessive iv become over them--vicious circle.
maybe i need to just stop thinking so much

Well since one of the desired effects of toking is actually like a temporary DPD, I'd assume so.
It lasted a few months, it came in rushes. I'd notice a slight disconnection and as soon as I thought of it, it would hit me really hard. This happened while dealing with customers at work and I made a fool of myself stumbling over words.
EDIT: The stop thinking so much part will help you endlessly.

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
Attempting to identify with yourself through an overblown misconception combined with a predisposition of anxiety is a useful catalyst for fucking yourself over.
If you really think it's that bad I suggest writing out how you feel on a piece of paper and looking for any inconsistencies. I've never gone through this as severely as you have and I apologize if this advice is retarded. Though when I did feel 'something like that' I noticed that I was just taking things out of context.
Seeing your hobbies, I think it'd be beneficial if you had a creative outlet. Writing, music, whatever. Most anything will do.

This. Distract yourself, not through drug use. I had the same type of thing going on for a while still sometimes when I'm around people or faced with some relatively important decision.

People with weak mental health shouldn't even touch acid. Some people just can't relearn how to function in reality again.

So how, exactly, did you determine that occasional LSD use was the only contributing factor, exactly?
Lemme guess... heavy abuse of questionably-receptor-specific disassociatives is "OTC," so it MUST have been that 50ug you took exactly one time, amirite?
'cause your dare teacher said so?
~sigh~
Quit making random and unfounded assumptions, and &totse will be better able to help you. Or at least find different things to make fun of you about.

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
I got this from taking to many e pills last summer.
I took me a while to reconnect with myself and reality. But in the long run i learned allot about myself and improved allot of things. It actually did me more good than harm.

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
that happens to me on lsd. like the other day i was on lsd taking a shower. totally blowing my mind on how totally insane a shower actually is. when you're sober you don't think about it, but wtf? why do we scrub ourselves with chemicals every damn day? its lunacy! but i still continue to do it because of the all powerful status quo

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
I feel like that too ( I did too many psychedelics this summer) and my advice is to stop smoking weed until it goes away. Also just stop thinking about it worrying yourself over it gets you nowhere. LSD can be shocking psychologically and you need time for your trip to sink in (sober time, not sitting around baked). Just remember that it'll go away and it's not a huge deal otherwise you're mind will make it worse then it is. Same goes with hppd.

LSD, if used correctly, can be EXTREMELY successful in helping mentally unstable patients.
The idea is that it breaks all the negative perceptions of one's life down and allows them to rebuild their life in a positive image...I read a book which documented a study done on over 2,000 seriously fucked up people and the success rate was unheard of.
However, doing this alone can be dangerous obviously.

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
Psychedelics made me feel very alienated and cold around other people for 1-2 years... the only times I felt truly at ease was when I was alone and doing the things I enjoyed. I feel that it had a lot to do with tripping alone. When I tripped alone, I felt like I couldn't relate to anybody for the next week. Everything in my head was unexplainable and I felt it hard to talk to people because my head was in a totally different place. But when I tripped with other people more often and talked to them for most of the trip, I would feel much warmer to the entire world the next day. All that peace, love and happiness stuff. When I trip alone, that's how I feel. Alone in a strange, unexplainable world. And that feeling sticks with me for a long time. But when I trip with others, the feeling is that I'm not alone. The great feelings I'm having can be shared with other people having great feelings. Or we can work out bad trips together and turn them into good ones.
The nature of your trip will influence the nature of your life, in my experience. Each trip should be a ritual. You need to share the ritual with other people, do something special, and take something out of it.

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
Most of you are pretty fucking dumb.
A large component of panic attacks is the "this is not real, my life isn't real I'm not real" feelings.
Panic attacks stem from anxiety.
Anxiety from thinking.
LSD makes you think. DXM makes you think. Pot can even make you think (but not act!).
It is possible that you tripped hard enough to where you know psychoanalyze everything. Now when you think a lot, you feel unreal.
I had the same think happen to me. It isnt the LSD that activated some mental disorder in your brain. The LSD helped you learn how to think. You as the person are now overdoing it. Stop thinking so much. Whenever you catch yourself thinking, say FUCK IT and distract yourself until it goes away. It gets better after a while. Today I had one of those things.. I was thinking too much until suddenly I felt I was dreaming. I reminded myself that I can work myself into these states and I just need to distract myself. I pulled out my cell phone and started texting people, 30 seconds later it was gone.
BTW, everytime you use any intoxicant you will become somewhat depersonalized during the time of intoxication. You are probally just high too often?

Re: lsd has given me Depersonalization disorder
my rampart disregard for my own health, and overindulgence in every substance conceivable have lead me towards having sociopathic tendencies. personality disorders are common among the general population 50+% of people experience at least one at some point in there life. among the drug using population that percentage runs a fuck of a lot higher. what the fucks normal anyway? who gives a fuck, at least your not suffering from depression, That's the only psychological disorder that scares the shit out of me. substance abuse has given me like 3-4 month long tastes of severe depression and the idea of suffering that shit permanently makes me fucking shudder

That's good advice, you might not be able to walk directly out of what you're feeling you're stuck experiencing, but time will ultimately heal it.
People with weak mental health shouldn't even touch acid. Some people just can't relearn how to function in reality again.
That's not true either, these are the people who may benefit the most from total psychological transgression.
Use the experience to learn about yourself like mobb said.
