| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

Observations that everybody could use.
Ask questions, do not follow blindly.
I do not have to illicit change through asking someone else to do it for me... that's a restriction of my own liberties. There's a big difference between democracy and freedom. People tend forget USA may be the land of the free, but it has a long way to go on what is and is not man's purpose and the protection there of.
"The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics and cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were, and ask, why not?"
-JFK '
The least initial deviation from the truth is multiplied later a thousand fold
Aristotle
"It's funny, most social solutions come down to Encouragements or Discouragements. Who really needs that in a society where I choose my role in it. Or the better question why Eng or Dis for any reason. Is it not a person's goal to be free and independent without fear guiding that answer however long or short.
Frankly, the society I want to live in is one that gives clarity rather then solutions to fear."

Re: Observations that everybody could use.
fact: NOBODY thinks they are a blind follower; EVERYONE says they are not.
fact: NOBODY ever says they don't actually think; EVERYONE says they actually think.
fact: you aren't special or better then anyone else.

Fallacies all of them:
Nobody and everyone... who is that exactly? (Weasel wording)
Actuality is subjective. Clarity and Truth are not.
Special isn't a relative term; you are or your not. Better is subjective. You want a valid statement separate the two. No choice exist between reality and subjectivity.

if you were stupid, you would not have understood what i said.
if you were wise, you would have understood what i meant.
since you are more then stupid and far less then wise, you can only read the words, not understand them.

Re: Observations that everybody could use.
Observations that everyone could use or that everyone with half a brain cell has already made?
