Where to Shred This Winter
with winter just around the corner, where does everyone plan on snowsporting at?
My local areas are Snoqualmie and Crystal Mountain in WA state. Snoqualmie is 40 minutes away and great for daily skiing on the weekends, while crystal is reserved for the dumps of fluff.
Riding some new AT ski's, plannin on going to Banff and heading out for some awesome runs.
What's everyones plans for this winter?

Re: Where to Shred This Winter
I'm going to cling to the solid ice runs here in MA and hope I make it out alive. Maybe ride a few piles of sugar on the sides of the runs and dream I'm riding pow. I love it here!
Nah, it's not horrible, but I'm making a 6' wide 4' high 8' long kicker and a 10' wide 4' high 12' long landing out of wooden palletes. I'm pumped, this might actually work. Then I'll add lights, which I already got for my miniramp, then hopefully a ropetow if the budget/time allows. Lookin to be a good winter to sesh my yard.
Outside of that- Wachusett, Okeemo, Loon, Sugarbush, Stowe, Sunday River, and a little more Okeemo. Wachusett most of the time, it's super close. The others are all weekend trips.

Sunshine and Lake Louise mostly... can't seem to stay away from Banff.
Also a January trip to Whistler is in the planning stages.
I. Love. Snowboarding.

I've tried it and I have to admit, it is fun for the parks. But i live for the sense of accomplishment when you hike up a mountain on skins, get to the peak and eat lunch/smoke a bowl, then kick in and lock heels and make ski porn.

Re: Where to Shred This Winter
I found 2 awesome runs hiking in the woods the other day, and went out with my friends to scope them out today. One is a huge series of 15' bumps that look absolutely amazing, with a path in a straight line. The other is a dirt road going down a hill with tons of fun stuff off to the sides like bonks, logs, you name it. I'm so pumped for the rolls though. I'm thinking we'll build a jump before each one so you get a nice smooth landing as you go over the thing. When we get a decent amount of snow, it's backflip time.
Plus hopefully I'll get a run going in my front yard.
[pics will follow if this works out]

But seriously Sugarloaf is worth the investment of 10 extra bucks in gas.

First trip out to the hill last night, let the season begin!
And just found out my wachusett season pass gives me discounts at Okemo, Stratton, Sunapee, Sugarbush, and more.

Re: Where to Shred This Winter
The mountain averages 500 inches of snow a winter. The snow is traditionally light, fluffy and dry making it a paradise for riders and skiers. Brighton is located directly in the path of winter storms and it is also at the very top of Big Cottonwood Canyon so it gets the very best of the âgreatest snow on earth,â and lots of it.
