IIRC, the methyl group does nothing except act as a kind of 'local' MAOI to prevent PEA's breakdown.

So, the question idea occurred to me, shouldn't there be some kind of 'sweet spot' dosage of a broad, unselective MAOI that would make OTC PEA supplements feel very similar to amphetamines?

I'm only suggesting this because I have a bunch of midterms\essays coming up and no adderall to help out.

Obviously, the risk of some kind of hypertensive crisis would be pretty high in this scenario if you took too much MAOI or PEA, hence the need for a 'sweet spot' dosage...any reason why this wouldn't work?

I'm off to work now, but c'mon guys, I think this could be a really cool idea...

Keep the MAOIs as low as possible. They're the danger here, folks. A low-enough dose might be withstandable, but probably not any dose you'd refuse to take without the PEA...
