I usually find myself eating dinner around 9 or 10 (my teaching schedule usually runs through 5-7 or so, when most people eat dinner in the states). Besides, its easier to get good reservations later in the evening, and I like eating at 9 or 10, before 2-4 hours of evening activities and going to bed at a reasonable hour (usually around 2).

Simply based on personal experience I'd say it has little to no effect. At one time in my life I ate constantly in the wee morning hours and never gained an ounce.

We're talking peanut butter by the gob at 5 a.m., to bed by six.
