After years of psychedelic drug use, the main thing I appreciate more is sobriety.

Man, the list goes on....

Nature - nothing is more amazing on psych's than being outside on a warm sunny day. You feel almost animalistic, like that's where you were meant to be. We are all made of the same stuff, and mushrooms really helped me see the cycle that nature goes in.

The universe - have you ever just closed your eyes on a psychedelic and tried to visualize zooming out, away from where you are, high above the trees, over the clouds and tallest mountains, until you can see the whole sphere of the earth, and continuing to go out, and out further, until there are just speckles of light, and then everything keeps getting more and more expansive, until you realize that whole universe is contained inside a small speck of and atom, where you zoom out and see yourself again? Well i have, and it fucking blew my mind.

Society - I dont appreciate society the way i used to - it always seemed so dynamic and meaningful, the way we (humans) have organized ourselves and our lives. Then on mushrooms, i got to thinking 'why?'. With the universe being as it is (see above) why do we do the things we do? It really is mind boggling how redundant EVERYTHING we do is. We are literally a speck of dust, sitting on a speck of dust, orbiting a speck of dust, in a giant spiral of dust that is one of a near-infinite collection of those. It really makes me wonder why the fuck i should care if i got a 79 instead of an 85 in school. Or why people put so much care into the little details that really dont matter.

Mathematics - I always thought math was neat, but you really can't understand the intricate beauty more than when you think about math on psychedelics. It is one of the few things that is true - numbers never lie. Mathematics can be used to describe nearly anything, and no matter how long time goes on, people will be dependent on mathematics because it is the only way people know of to quantify the universe around them. I love math!

Animals - im sure ANYONE who has done shrooms can tell you how animalistic you feel - it's just so natural. I always get the feeling that this is because instead of planning ahead, on mushrooms i just live every moment as it comes to me - no worries, no inhibitions, no common sense sometimes. If you've ever petted/played with a family pet, you kind of know what things are like from their perspective, where the only thing that matters is having fun, being comfortable, and eating when you're hungry.

Emotion - Psychedelics make emotions REAL. It might just be me, but when something is scary, it freaks you out, when something is funny, you'll be laughing hysterically for hours (literally, at least 45 minutes for me before). The best example I can give is when i tripped with my girlfriend. Twice, when i tripped with her, she had bad trips. I stayed with to take care of here while everyone else kept tripping for fun, and I felt like a motherly figure (which was wierd, because I'm a guy) - all i could focus on was staying with her and making sure she was ok. I know exactly how a mother feels with a child, because nothing made me happier than when she was safe and happy. The second time, I had a bad trip too - (scariest fucking thing ever), and after a while, we both started talking to each other, and saying how we were worried for each other. Then everything just brightened up because "I knew she loved me and cared for me" and all that mushy stuff. Its really hard to explain, but after tripping (even still), i feel alot more in tune with my emotions because i can positively identify what i'm feeling.

Sorry if i lost you with that last one - I can't really explain feelings and stuff, but i know alot more about mine now. (and for those who care - love IS real...its fucked - its pretty fucked up how it works, but when you say that to someone (and mean it), you make a bond with that person, and mushrooms really showed me that it is undeniably true)....(of course i cant stand the fucking bitch now)

Default Re: What have phsychadelics helped you appreciate more?

I learned tons of things about myself from trips. Usually when I'm tripping I tend to not go towards political ideas and shit like that. Usually it's just introspection of myself and just "natural" things. The sad thing is though that I don't just do psychedelics, and because of this, the other drugs are constantly "pulling" me to them. It's like I'm trying to "Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out", but then I start realizing all I wanna do is nullify my existence.

But back to the point, I've learned so many different things from so many different trips (mostly acid). I've learned that you have to actual experience life for yourself, rather then living the life of someone else by reading magazines or watching TV or shit like that. Psychedelics have helped me appreciate my mom a lot more too. At one point I hated her kind of lot (a lot of that had to do with the influence of my dad, but not gonna bore you with that). So this one time, I'm trippin pretty fucking hard, listening to the Beatles and just spacing out mad hard and getting all introspective. Now, I was expecting to realize why I hate her so much, but I realized I had it all wrong the whole time. I finally realized how much I appreciated her and all the shit she's done for me. And rather instead of seeing my father as some sort of saint, and my mother as some sort of demon, their roles got reversed. Pretty interesting shit, I should write a trip report on it. But yea, I think this is a long enough post, but to end it, I just have to say that psychedelics can be amazing. They're therapeutic in so many different ways and is MUCH better than straight therapy because it's rather you learning from yourself, teaching yourself, and that is much more rewarding in the long run.

Sobriety and sanity mostly. It's a hell of a lot easier to deal with mental problems when you see how bad they can really be. Occasional partial insanity is nothing compared to what psychedelics can do... Also nature obviously. Life and death. Not yet got to the point where I can appreciate science more.

Art work. I can appreciate that more.

I've had it where most things had a red tint to them. I interperated this as their "life force" Also one time I was able to see the color spectrum of a white light (meaning I saw like "rainbow colors" instead of white).

This. Although I didn't need psychedelics to make me appreciate these thing, they certainly make me appreciate them much more.

The power of the human race to accomplish things (for better or worse) is another one. Every time I see a building, or a city, I think "holy shit, look how far we've come in just a few thousand years". That's probably tied into science though.

Ewww... it was so bad that you had to melt your perceptions and shred your mind?

To be honest, psychedelics helped me appreciate being a non-smoker and a non-drinker. It happened the night I took some LSA seeds before I went to go see a psychedelic band. I ordered a beer and a tap water (in case the HBWR seeds made me wanna puke) and quickly got so lost in the music that I just didn't even sip the beer. It got uncomfortably warm after I took 30mg dose of methylone so I went outside to get started on my beer. I pulled out a cigarette, lit it, took one puff, and proceeded to put it out because it was sickening. I eventually forced the beer down my throat, even though it suddenly tasted repulsive too, but I knew it would warm me up a little bit for my way home. I only smoked that cigarette because it kept me walking but I had to re-light it every 10 minutes.
Eventually I got home and spent a couple hours trying to roll a little joint, but found it more fun to just play with the soft plant matter and the paper.
I didn't smoke or drink for the rest of the night until morning when I found what I tried to roll, mixed with tobacco... I finished the job so that I could get a buzz off the weed and thus resumed my smoking habit.... all for a psychedelic.

I was just lyin on my bed at some point wondering why loads of little cartoon shrooms with pointy teeth were laughing at me when i closed my eyes AND I SWEAR TO GOD- that really happened (people never seem to hollucinate on shrooms).

It was amazing when me and some friends were tripping absolute BAWLS on mushrooms.

And we went outside and layed in a field to look at the stars, it was an amazing starry night.

And what we all felt, was a massive MEH.

The stars were fucking boring, just dots of light.
The leaves on the other hand, were fucking insane and out of control

Default Re: What have phsychadelics helped you appreciate more?

They didn't help me appreciate anything. And although my tripping days are long gone, I have here a list of things they make more fun and things they make less fun.

More Fun:
Amusement Parks - Me and my friends went to Knoebel's on mushrooms. Although I only went on a few rides, crazy ass time, rollercoasters were amazing. Haunted Mansion was VERY scary but most fun I ever had.

Movies - Mushrooms again, saw the Happening. When I went to see it, I liked it. Saw it sober, and it was awful.

Ocean City, Maryland - Mushrooms the second time in OC, boarwalk was amazing. Plus the people I tripped with were awesome, and we had a great time. The beach, everything was great.

Parties - LSD and mushrooms plenty of times, had a lot of different experiences, nothing ever bad at a party.

Camping - LSD and mushrooms plenty of times, had a lot of different experiences, but one time on mushrooms freaked out.

TV - LSD and mushrooms, just gets me into the shows.

Less Fun:
Ocean City, MD - The first time was awful. It was the first day, I ate like 4 grams of some banging shrooms because my friend couldn't put down all of what I gave him. Right from the onset I wasn't feeling the trip. I was gonna stay inside but the anxiety drove me to the point where I couldn't. We started walking, and I was so freaked out. It was the daytime, and walking on the boardwalk was terrifying. We moved to the street, and onto a bus where I proceeded to geek out in front of a crowded busload of people for like 100 streets. All I thought about was getting arrested. I was POURING sweat. I mean like there were drops going down my t-shirt. But luckily, by the time we got off the bus, the trip had pretty much subsided, and I proceded to get hammered.

Rooms filled with sober people - just being around sober people gives me anxiety.

Getting Lost - Pretty much the worst thing ever if you are tripping.

And to wrap it up, the most fun, and the least fun at the same time: Haunted Houses. The ones where you walk through. Every time I went tripping, it was on muchrooms. They are possibly the most terrifying places while tripping. I've never been more scared in my life. I was pretty much glued to the person in front of me. I didn't know which way was which. But it was awesome.

The human body. When I was on shrooms+ecstacy, my girlfriend and I exchanged massages. Just having all of my muscles stimulated and feeling the muscles on her made me really interested in the human body. After that night, I started really loving sculptures and art of the human body. Been drawing and doing some sculpting of my own, and of course I'm really good and enthusiastic about giving people massages now. I like to stretch everyday because I love having all of my muscles stimulated.

Of course, I appreciate many things more after experiencing psychedelics. But the most noticeable change is my interest in the bodies of people. And no I don't actually have fat thighs anymore. :P

After acid and shrooms, I am ready for the New World Order because I now hate this world and all the people in it.

Perhaps if I would have had a positive experience while tripping I would be some kind of tree hugging hippy.

I suppose I do appreciate sobriety more as well, as the feelings I have while tripping are not feelings I ever want to have again.
