Default follow up to: "busted"

first i would like to say that i really am ready for a change and i am ready to do what is right. i have lied to everyone about my drug problem for too long and i truly want a change. i intend to be completely honest, set goals, work hard, and live with structure and organization in my life from now on.

i still haven't been charged and its been 8 days.
i'm still in the dorms and i have a better idea of what they collected.
1. morphine residue( on a spoon with cotton filter)
2. testosterone ethanate
3. a whippet cracker with balloons ( if there were no actual whippets can
they charge me with anything here?)
4. a bullet with possible cocaine residue (lets hope it was only cut residue!)
5. scales

i'm sure that is it because i realized yesterday when i went through my other backpak they did not confiscate everything in my room.

will these illegal residues lead to serious charges?

i have taken some small steps to show that i am really ready to change for the best.
i now go to the methadone clinic and narcotics anonymous daily. also i have decided to add the guidance of christianity in my life so i go to church and study as much as possible.

the officer said he would work with me since i am truly trying to do what is right and if he can help i will most likely recieve some fines and a year of probation.

the worst thing about all of this is that i have been working hard to lower my dose of opiates everyday and i was working on changing my life for the better then i get hit with this. all i can do is accept the fact that i obviously need some sort of punishment to help me understand the severity of the crimes i have commited. i don't deserve the typical freedoms that most people get because i abuse them but if i plan on doing what is right then this should not be too hard. i just have to keep my head up high and stay strong. it is time to quit being a useless drug addict.

is probation and fines a realistic option with my situation or am i doomed to doing some serious jail/prison time?
i am currently located in wv if that will help with answering these questions.

1st offense?

Probation if you act right. Just don't disrespect the judge and you can plea to a charge lesser than what you got, unless you only get simple anyway.

Yeah you sound very determined to quit. But like someone else has already said, you're just in shock. Give it a couple of months and 99% of people that get arrested and charged with drug offenses go back to using drugs.

I remember when I got caught I swore up and down that I'd never smoke or do any drugs again. A couple of months later I decided to smoke a little bud, then it took off from there.

Hope you don't get busted, maybe they won't think about testing the residue. Good luck and stay safe.

Like everyone else has already said; your thoughts on this will change your just in shock. I've been through it multiple times and from experience all I can say is if you really do stick with what you're saying now (which is unlikely) then you'll come out a better person. I'm not saying you cant do it or anything cuz i dont know you but I am saying that that kind of thought is short-lasting. Just stay strong and when you wanna go get fucked up again really bad like you use to just replace those thoughts with the feeling of how it felt when you got busted. I'm not very good at it but I at least try.

Probably. My guess is they'll connect the alcohol use to the drug use and conclude that you have an all around substance abuse issue that your not willing to give up. Some advice is to make sure the judge knows you really do want help and you're trying to do something about it. That's the main thing, just make sure he knows you're open to help and you're seeking it.

Morphine residue could get you simple posession. Same with testosterone.

Whippets are completely legal, even if there had been chargers you couldnt get into legal trouble.

Since you're in West Virginia, i doubt the bullet will get you into serious trouble. I would be surprised if there are any laws that prohibit you from having bullets on campus, and unless it was caked with powder, it wont get tested for drug residue.

Scales without any significant amount of drugs does not indicate drug dealing.

So really the 1st 2 are the only things you have to worry about for the courts, and since you're a college student they'll probably go easy on you.

Your school, on the other hand, can do whatever the fuck it wants. That is your bigger concern. Being expelled from college is much worse in the long run than a minor posession charge. So stop worrying about johnny law and start convincing your school to keep you.

Indeed. My first arrest was for trafficking MDMA, and within 2 months I had not only started using ecstasy again, but had also graduated to cocaine. And I was looking at a 3 year mandatory minimum sentence with my charges still pending, you are only looking at probation maybe.

Get a lawyer! It's possible you may not be facing any legal consequences at all depending on if you have a lawyer and the circumstances of your "bust." If they were going to charge you they probably would have arrested you on the spot, or at least gave you a court summons thing to sign saying you had a court date and would actually show up. With that said if the actual police(not some campus rent-a-cop) have the evidence you still could be charged. The bigger worry it seems is staying in school, but still get a fucking lawyer!

actually i think my school will keep me. i'm good friends with the president and its strange how many of the board members like me.
i actually was the presidents roommate for a week at the beginning of this semester. one night the fire alarm went off right after i IMd some ket. 15 minutes later me and the pres were being wrote up for not exiting the building. apparently i when the president tried to get me out of the room i told him to "fuck off" and he didn't take it lightly until i convinced him i thought he was someone else. funny thing is this was after i was hit by the car and had all my injuries so i told them my meds had me knocked out. its really cool that i got to room with the president and i think it will end up being what keeps me in school.

^...and i'm serious about getting clean and staying clean.

First of all, I would like to let you know that you are the biggest fucking pussy I have ever seen.

That said, just so you know, usually people don't do 25-life (you know, SERIOUS prison time) for dealing anything under about 25-50 pounds. There IS no "serious jail time." It doesn't exist.

But mostly? God damn, you're a fucking pussy. Serious.

Now, let's get one thing straight - I am not your lawyer. That said...

i'm still in the dorms and i have a better idea of what they collected.

Yeah. The probable charge is a single count of "posession of drug paraphanelia." Expect bench (UNsupervised) probation and under $500 in fines, counting your public pretender's fee.

Basically... it's like a fucking traffic ticket. Which is why we're laughing at you. Wake us when they catch you offloading kilo-bags of coke or fent off a truck, then you'll have something that's not a traffic ticket.

the officer said he would work with me since i am truly trying to do what is right and if he can help i will most likely recieve some fines and a year of probation.

^^ this is a sign that you fucked up and talked to the cop way too much. If the cops are rewarding your "cooperation" or "doing the right thing" - you fucked up.

Shut the fuck up and tell it to your public pretender, before you tell it to the judge, and you'll still end up with a few fines. Judges, incidentally, tend to really hate the pigs/prosecutor's "I'm the only one that can hook you up" bullshit, and tend to hook up "the standard plea" for both pleading open (e.g., telling the judge without accepting anything from the prosecutor) or, if your case is not atypically aggregious, for fighting it and losing. They OFTEN tell the prosecutor to fuck off when the prosecutor says "fry this small-time offender."

The cop can't do shit to tell the judge what sentence to pass down. The best they can do is file the new charges seperate from the warrant processing so you get back out on the street. Which isn't even a fucking issue in your life, and if that's where you were in your life, you'd be way deeper into "teh kriminal lief" than... pissing yourself because you got the de-facto equivalent of a speeding ticket for drugs.

My guess? I'm not a lawyer, but if there was a betting pool, my shiny dollar bill would be on one count posession of paraphenalia, bench probation, $500 or less fine.

Now, quit being such a god-damned pussy. People have faced firing squads with more backbone than you, for fuck's sake.

hah. this. all you're doing is boosting some cop's ego. all he can do is write less tickets, he can't help you wortha fuck on sentencing.
