Im moving to Bunbury, western australia from the UK in february and i am wondering what the marijuana situation is there, how easily available is it and what are some rough price estimates?

In Australia it's 15 years for just possession of small amounts. It's because the Aborigines are involved in the drug trade. So not many people are willing to get involved. If you want some weed you'll have to go into an Aborigine village, and they charge $25 a gram and you're just as likely to get robbed and left in the desert.

oh, and almost nobody has coke, ever, and when they do it's about $80/0.1g

Weed always seemed to be around in Aus, and not "that" expensive.... you can always grow it y'self outside if you're careful, but I think indoor stuff was usually available too. Why bother when you can get some seriously nice outdoor for cheaper, though?

In perth an average ounce will set you back maybe $320, a stick(as described above), $25. Also $75 "baggies" which is more then 3x a stick, although most dealers wont sell you that much. Bikie "gang" weed is almost always hydro, and from what ive heard is really good shit, but might be hard/dangerous to get(dont fuck around with em, cash in hand then gtfo)
Perth is far from anywhere. You wont likely find much heroin, or coke for that matter. Meth is "fairly" prevalent(atleast thats what the media say's alot). The cops will ass fuck you if you drive 10km over the limit, even if it means they have to go 40 to catch up. Theres lots of aboriginals in bunbury, dunno why you'd move there.

The laws for aus are fucked up. You can get off murder by just kicking someone to death with 4 of your mates, but if you have meth, coke, heroin, and sometimes large amounts of marijuana you'll go to jail for a while.

It's recommended you byo bong/smoking paraphernalia, just buy it new before you come.

Also, dont try and import $750 million worth of cocaine into australia....(someone did that, and now his in casuarina(maximum security prison) for the rest of his life lol)

Mushies are around during early spring i think, then theres none until next year. Some people grow, but i dont know of any. Usually W.A drugs are pretty shit quality, quantity and price. Theres police everywhere in the city(perth), but that never stopped anyone :)

I'd just like to put up some defence for aus, for starters wester australia (perth etc) is like 4000km away from the east coast, and only 15% of the population live there. I've never been there and don't want to from the descriptions given, but over here on the east coast drugs can be very prevailant, although since things like coke and heroin are imported in huge amounts, if the cops take down big drug rings then it can get pretty dry. Also the precursers for meth are often imported due to tough pharmaceutical laws, so prices can be high for that, and base is always shit, however crystal is usually pretty good. With weed, i've almost always come across only good stuff (either hydro or simply well grown and a good strain), however if u go to nimbin (althought it's easy to get) you'll almost always get sold outdoor shit - even if they say its hydro, and it can be nice, but you should just buy hydro somewhere else since it's the same price (320 and ounce and 3.5g for $50). I've got a feeling most of the hydro comes up the coast from victoria and nsw (biker gangs as said before) which is why it can be kinda expensive, but if you have friends who grow it you don't have to deal with these people. and yeah E is usally $35 but lsd is $15-20 and when it's easy to find you can buy heaps of it.

This is of no help to the guy moving to WA, so sorry bout that, but if i were you i'd move to the east coast asap. good luck

Perth isn't that bad for drugs, seriously it's the only place in Australia at the moment where I can actually get LSD. Speed and MDMA is overpriced though, weed is Actually quite big over there you just have to know the right people. I know this because I've lived there for about 17 years and holiday there often. Bunbury isn't that bad, just go up to Rockingham and you will score :D

There's a wonderful range of tabs around at the moment, but only one of them I found to be LSD, and it was cruelly weak.

the scene is certainly getting bigger, though. Dangerously big. Compared to when I first started psychs, the amount of blatant sale and use of RCs, mescaline, acid and shrooms says to me that someone, or perhaps several someones, are getting very rich... Local production is nonexistant, it's definetly being imported in rather significant volumes, I just wish that whoever's doing it would get a better source because I'm fucking sick of DOET and LSA... Anyone with half a brain can figure out what the particular pipeline is, you just have to plot a timeline of how many and what sort are around (tabs in particular), any large gatherings or events and watch for the intersects... then find out who organises what, and then find out what acts play when, and who they fly in to do a set... You need to be in the scene to do it, but it's not hard.

So by my count, we're well overdue for a sweeping series of arrests to destabilise the whole business...

Hallucinogens are probably least targeted drugs by the police, seriously how many people have you seen cause trouble while tripping... :)
