my friend stole a 24 pack of beer from a gas station today. he walked in, grabbed the pack, heard the cashier say "hey sir!" and just walked to his getaway car. however, a car pulled out in front of them, and they had to wait. my friend locked the door just in time, because the cashier walked out and banged on his window. luckily the car was able to get away, there is a chance the cashier could have gotten the license plate, and he is definitely on camera.

can anything happen to him if they in fact have that information?

I worked at a gas station that had regular beer runs. I recorded information like that and the boss always viewed the tapes the next day. He never reported it to the cops, though, and I doubt the dickholes at the station your "friend" stole from will report it either. Even if they did report it, I would venture to say that the cops will do fuckshit about it. If, however, your "friend" is stopped by a cop in that same car then it is possible that the officer could run the plate and see that a report was filed for the beer theft. They will probably, however, remember what he(you) looks like for a very long time so it is recommended that he avoids the station.

imagine running out of a store with a 20 lb 24 pack of bottles in your hand, and then running to your car, putting it on the ground, unlocking the door, opening it, picking the beer back up, putting the beer in the back, getting in the car, starting it up, reversing out, then escaping. Dumb fuck.

personly I would leave the engine running, leave the doors unlocked, put the 24 pack under 1 arm while i open the door, put the beers on the frount seat and take off........Dumb Fuck.

How about just running anyway, fuck the car. The shop assistants and clerks don't chase you for that long anyway, what's the point they don't get paid much anyway. If it's really not that busy though then have the store assistant chase you while your buddy goes in and steals some more.

Doubtful they'll call the cops, never know though. If there is a lot of crime around the area or it happens often then they won't even bother.

Because my friend did this in a suburb, about 5 miles away and he lives in the city. and because it's not really legal for a 17 year old to walk with a case of beer. and (from what i hear), the mexican dude working at the gas station was pissed, like he'd taken it personally. and the way you talk makes life seem like a big video game of Bully.
