Which bong should I buy? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I checked out CGP and i narrowed my choices down to these three bongs (all under $50). These are in the order that I'm considering them:
1. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...7_2017_3487201
2. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...17_2020_321823
3. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...7_2017_2057929
could someone please explain to me how a percolator works? i've heard people say they make the bong smoke a lot more smoothly but i don't understand exactly what it is/does...

A percolator (perc) seperates the smoke into multiple channels into another chamber of water. This does make the smoke smoother and less harsh on the throat, its also for filtering the smoke a bit more.
I suggest when you get your bong; you also purchase a diffuser and an ash catcher if your chosen one doesn't have them already, the resulting smoke is so smooth, you'll clear a nice big bowl without realising.

A percolator basically filters the smoke through water a second time and is usually found at the bottom of the stem.
Personally I like the second one because its pretty straightforward and has a percolator but the 3rd one looks pretty cool, the bowl is better and you could stick loads of ice down the stem.

I think I'll say second or 3rd, does the 2nd one have a percolator?

yep, the second one has a percolator.
while we're on the topic i guess can someone explain how a diffuser works too? i know what the loook like but i dont know how they work. i understand they break the smoke into smaller bubbles somehow?
i'd also like to throw these into the mix for consideration:
18" monster (i dont like the fact that there's no ice catchers but it looks like it would rip hard):

14" bender:

out of all of them i'm kinda leaning towards the one with the perc.....

i'd go with the first or the third one, the third one because you can usually store/transfer a lighter when your passing it around in the top of the bong before the bend, but then again that one looks a little deep for a lighter, meh i would go with the first one..

Basically the diffuser is holes punched in the down stem that the bowl is attached to, breaking the bubbles apart exposes the smoke to more water for better "filtration" and a smoother hit.

3rd or 2nd one is the best choice. You will probably break the 1st one.

That. More surface area for the smoke, so more of it gets filtered.
Also, I'd get #2. #1 looks nice but it looks like it can be a little top heavy to me. The zigzag bongs are more novelty than anything, IMO, which they lose after a while, but the second one looks compact and effective.
