Default Budder: British Columbia's Greatest Contribution to the World of Cannabis

Has anybody ever tried this stuff? 'Budder' came out of Vancouver about five years ago, and I was lucky enough to come across some last week. I don't know the exact procedure, but it involves purifying hash oil in some manner to create the most potent form of cannabis save for those THC pills. 'Recipes' can be found on the internet, of course.

The stuff is quite expensive, $50 for a gram -- but it is worth it. I heard some budder was circulating among my friends and was immediately interested. I took one hit via blades at my friends house and it kicked in immediately.

Now, I've been smoking weed for about 7 years now, but this was something special. The high is very interesting. There is a complete absence of any paranoia some may associate with a regular joint. It is quite psychedelic. It is an intoxicating mixture of a body and mind high, though it fairs heavier on the body side of the spectrum. Your body feels 'silly', in a word. When my friend drove to go get coffee, the road ahead and the surrounding hills looked absolutely beautiful -- to be frank, it was quite reminiscent of an acid trip, but with different attributes. It is, to oversimplify, a very fun high. It feels like the first time you got stoned, minus any paranoia, or, in general, any of the negative aspects typically associated with a cannabis high.

One hit was enough for the time being. Over the next three hours, I had about six beers, and I did not notice any of the usual 'head-spinning' that seems to come hand-in-hand with drinking alcohol and smoking weed. It was great. I was happy; I felt mildly euphoric... not like an MDMA high, just a pleasant, peaceful, and not overwhelming high. Later, I took a larger blades hit. The high intensified immediately, and my friends and I had a fucking awesome time watching Weekend Update (SNL, they do it on Thursdays now...). It was hilarious. A lovely, warm, fuzzy feeling. A general sense of well-being. Objects merged to a slight degree, auditory perception was quite intriguing.

I went home at about 10:30 and watched the first half of the Daily Show. I couldn't stop laughing. It was amazing. I fell asleep quickly, slept soundly, had rather vivid dreams, and woke up feeling just fine.

To summarize: budder is, beyond a doubt, the best form of cannabis I've ever encountered. If you have access to it, it's certainly worth the money. One decent sized hit will give you a very pleasurable high for 4-5 hours, and a gram could hypothetically last you two weeks or longer, depending on your usage.

Has anybody else here tried 'budder'? I'm pretty sure it's more or less confined to the Greater Vancouver Area and some parts of BC, but I have a feeling it will be spreading soon. It is amazing. I don't wish to build it up too much, as it isn't like oxycodone or MDMA or LSD, but it is, in a word, FUN. I'm quite interested to hear if budder has spread further than the Pacific Northwest... so, if you have tried it, please share :)!

ed: Wikipedia may not be the most credible of sources, but it says budder should have about 82-99.6% THC/CBN/CBD potency.

98%~ budder takes the fun and social aspect out of smoking weed = fail. Give me a fat bud joint any day.

Not true. Not at all. Although I do know where you're coming from here, the process of a blades hit is just as fun as rolling a joint, and the high is incomparable. Try it before you pass a judgement like that. Not fun? It's fun as shit, especially if you're introducing it to friends; everyone is excited to try this new form of weed. The social aspect? To be frank, the high gave me a 'social high' unlike any other form. Usually when I smoke weed, I feel like going home and listening to music or watching TV. With budder, I felt like being around my friends. Again, try it before you knock it.

Obviously joints have an amazing communal appeal. That is not the subject here. What I'm trying to say is that budder is the best way I've found yet to smoke this wonderful drug.

Yeah, once you reach that clear headed high from high doses of cannabis that's the pinnacle of a marijuana high.

I've had something similar to what the OP was describing from eating a cookie made with a lot of cannabutter and hash oil...the high truly is incredible.

This stuff is great, and if you smoke it right a little goes a long way.

I used a funnel taped/blue tac-ed onto a pen and vaped it off foil.

A small pin sized amount is all that is needed, you should be able to get 4-5 hits off that. It's a very long lasting high too, longer than just smoking a joint.

Once you get the hang of working with it it's quite easy, but it can be a bit daunting at first. I recommend trying it if you can, but I personally more enjoy smoking a joint or something, but once in a while it is amazing.
