Oh, what to do?
Okay, so back story first: I dated this girl of and on and hurt her a lot a few years back. She's now dating a guy, and seems to be happy. Kinda.
Flash forward. It's been a little over 4 years since I've met this girl. I still have feelings for her, and realize I was an idiot for doing the things I did to her. Now I feel that I've fucked up my destiny. I feel like I was meant to be with this girl, but that can't happen now.
I'm not even interested in a relationship with another girl. I've had other relationships since being with this girl, but none of them felt as meaningful as when I was with her. I'm afraid now that even if I do find a meaningful relationship, I won't be 100% devoted to it because of my feelings towards this girl.
It's starting to drive me a bit crazy, knowing that the person I love is with another man. I respect their relationship however, and would never do anything to sabotage their relationship, or would never let her cheat on him with me, so that's out of the question.
Years ago, when I was a real dick, I would have just taken what I wanted. Today I feel that I'm a bit more reserved, and I'd never even think of doing something as rude as attempting to steal someone else's woman.
The question is, what the fuck do I do?
I've told her how I feel towards her to a basically luke warm reception. I'm afraid at this point it's too late...:(
She frequently lurks in this forum. At first I had reservations against posting this. On second thought, I hope she reads this.

Re: Oh, what to do?
first of all, the obligatory horse-faced boy.
secondly, your just posting because u hope she sees this, you dont genuinely want our help so fuck you
thridly, your coward, you hope that she will see this and do something like maybe break up with her man so you dont feel guilty about breaking them up. u sucks
lastly, and more seriously, who the helll gives a shit about breaking a couple up. everybody has a right to love whomever they want. just fukcing swoop in and take her away from her man. if you two are meant to be together, it will work. if you are not, it won't. simply as that.

Considering 99% of your analysis of why I posted this was WRONG, I'll move forward to the last bit of advice you gave and say that I just don't feel comfortable doing that. Yes, it would be possible to swoop the fuck down like batman, and steal away into the night with the woman I love. Unfortunately, my findings indicate that the world doesn't work this way.

Do you feel that she is "his woman" and is that why you wouldn't feel right doing it? omfg...nobody, and I mean NOBODY, truly "belongs" to anybody else. Everybody has the right to change their heart in the matters of romance (and this even applies to married couples, though I know a lot of people will disagree with me). My point is, your not feeling comfortable about it is really not necesarily. That being said, if you want to keep on being morally uptight about this, it's your right. I am not gonna tell you what to do with your love life.

Re: Oh, what to do?
I wasn't even gonna read that until I saw the only person giving you advice was WAN, no one deserves that.
It sounds like all parties involved know that it's over. This was just the last flickering attempt to revitalize it. Instead of trying to get back what's in the past, you should try to rebuild a similar relationship with someone new.
I'm sure she seemed like she was one of a kind, maybe she was but don't use that as an excuse to not continue living your life to it's fullest.
Don't spoil your memories, it's all any of us really have.

Re: Oh, what to do?
OP, you shouldn't worry so much.
you are just being sentimental. Feelings are lame I know.
But don't worry, you'll eventually meet someone who you'll like better, and stop thinking that you wont girls don't like that.
