| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Max Payne 3?
I think it is pretty inevitable if the movie makes any money at all. Just the fact the movie got made is a good indication.
Plus several news stories about it. http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_bl...ic_id=26283798
I played the first two for a long ass time and even installed a good number of mods, hope Remedy will give us another one.

Re: Max Payne 3?
I think it's pretty 'inevitable', either way. I mean, for the most part; it's always been a sure thing. it just hasn't been confirmed as in development, as of yet. the only thing really holding it back is a good story, as that's basically what's most important in the series.
but it will happen. no doubt. probably within the next year or so, even. my only hope is that it captures the feel of the first two (and the film) -- as it may be by a different team.
on the other hand: try being a Shenmue fan.

Re: Max Payne 3?
and plus, just to mention: whether the film made hella money or none, it would have little to no impact on the video game series. it takes a succesful franchise to get a movie out of it. so the existence of a film alone, or just the 'possibility', even; basically promises more. the outcome just really doesn't determine anything.

Re: Max Payne 3?
Max Payne was an amazing set of games. The fact that it got hollywood attention from someone that isn't Uwe Boll says something about it's influence not only from die hard fans of the game, but it shows what such a game can do to attract non-gamers as well.
To be honest, I haven't seen the movie, but I have high hopes for it when I saw Silent Hill, then Hitman. Both were great films, in my opinion.
I think Rockstar would do well to come up with a new part to the series, tying it into a trilogy. But where will it go? I mean, he already got his revenge, you know?

They were both terrible. I have little expectation for the movie.
Max Payne 3 will be a must own for sure.

I hope Mark Wahlberg won't be the new Max Payne in the game, but if the movie sells well, he might be.

oh please, fuck no. haha. just look what they've done with Marvel.
Please, Marvel...go back to Capcom. Capcom loves you. and we love Capcom. and we love you. and you love Capcom. and Capcom love us. Evil 'ole EA broke our love triangle. they do not love you; and you're slowly begining to realize that maybe you don't love their money enough for them to make shitty games with your ever beloved characters, that you know rightfully belong under Capcom's wing. and back to us who simply despise EA.
come back to us, Marvel. come back to us...

Re: Max Payne 3?
I have never played the first two, only seen my friends play the PS2 version of the first one.
Is it worth picking it up for the PC?
Oh, and to the guy that said that Hitman and Silent Hill were good movies...are you high?
